The acetyl-ene group is slightly non-linear, with angles at the acetyl-ene C atoms of 175.7?(2) and 177.0?(2)°. In the crystal structure, only van de Waals interactions occur.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(8)F(2)O(2), is a substituted benzil with an s-trans conformation of the dicarbonyl unit. This conformation is also shown by the O-C-C-O torsion angle of -110.65?(12)°. An unusual feature of the structure is the length, 1.536?(2)?Å, of the central C-C bond connecting the carbonyl units, which is significantly longer than a normal Csp(2)-Csp(2) single bond. This is probably the result of decreasing the unfavourable vicinal dipole-dipole inter-actions by increasing the distance between the two electronegative O atoms [O?O = 3.1867?(12)?Å] and allowing orbital overlap of the dione with the ? system of the benzene rings. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 64.74?(5)°. In the crystal structure, neighbouring mol-ecules are linked together by weak inter-molecular C-H?O (× 2) hydrogen bonds. In addition, the crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.6416?(6)-3.7150?(7)?Å.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(16)H(14)O(2), a substituted benzil, the dicarbonyl unit has an s-trans conformation. This conformation is substanti-ated by the O-C-C-O torsion angle of 108.16?(15)°. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 72.00?(6)°. In the crystal structure, neighbouring mol-ecules are linked together by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions. In addition, the crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.6000?(8)-3.8341?(8)?Å.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, trans-[Cu(C2H)Cl(C26H24P2)2], consists of an Ru(II) cation, located on an inversion centre, in an octa-hedral environment defined by two chelating phosphines, one acetyl-ide and one chloride ligand. The -C CH and the chlorine ligands are disordered over two equivalent positions (0.5 occupancy each). The coordination geometry is distorted octa-hedral, with the -C CH fragment and the Cl ligand in trans positions. The four P atoms occupy the equatorial plane of the octa-hedron and the chloride and acetyl-ide ligands the axial positions.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(18)H(12)N(2)O(4), is situated on a crystallographic centre of symmetry. The mol-ecule has a zigzag structure, with two parallel symmetry-related indoline-2,3-dione fragments linked by an ethyl-ene group at each N atom. In the crystal, the mol-ecules stack in columns along the b axis. There are two such columns in the structure. The mol-ecules within each column are parallel; however, the mol-ecules in the two columns differ in the respective orientation of the indoline-2,3-dione fragments. Project description:Crystals of the title compound, C(30)H(20)F(12)P(2) or R(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PR(2) (R = 4-C(6)H(4)CF(3)), were inadvertently prepared while attempting to recrystallize a crude sample of trans-Re(Cl)(N(2))(R(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PR(2))(2) from diethyl ether. The molecule lies on a center of inversion. One of the rings lies approximately in the P-C-C-P plane; the dihedral angle is 174.53°.The other ring is not quite perpendicular; the dihedral angle is 71.1°. It is well known that the basicity of phosphines and diphosphines can be altered by changing the electron-donating ability of R; however, the structural parameters for the title compound do not significantly differ from those of the aforementioned substituted-phenyl compounds.
