ABSTRACT: The mol-ecule of the title compound, C11H15NO, contains a cyclo-hexa-none ring, three defined stereocenters and an exocyclic double bond. The crystal structure is the result of a study on the Michael addition reaction of (S)-carvone with sodium cyanide using ionic liquids as the reaction medium and so the absolute configuration is known from the chemistry. The six-membered ring is in a chair conformation.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(25)NO(2), was synthesized by epoxidation of the double bond of (S)-perillyl alcohol [(S)-4-isopropenyl-1-cyclo-hexenyl-methanol], followed by the oxirane ring-opening by benzyl-amine using [Ca(CF(3)CO(2))(2)] as catalyst under solvent-free condition at 313?K. The mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by an intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming chains parallel to the a axis, which are further connected by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into sheets parallel to (010). The absolute configuration of the mol-ecule is known from the synthetic procedure.

Project description:The title compound, C10H12O8, a prospective raw material for colourless polyimides which are applied to electronic and microelectronic devices, lies about an inversion centre and the cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation. Two crystallographycally independent carb-oxy-lic acid groups on adjacent C atoms are in equatorial positions, resulting in a mutually trans conformation. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds around an inversion centre and a threefold rotoinversion axis, respectively, form an inversion dimer with an R 2 (2)(8) motif and a trimer with an R 3 (3)(12) motif.

Project description:A new tetra-dentate chiral Schiff base ligand, C(26)H(30)N(2)O(2), has been synthesized by the reaction of 1-phenyl-butane-1,3-dione with (1S,2S)-(-)-1,2-diamino-cyclo-hexane. The chiral centers in the mol-ecule have the same S configuration, since the absolute configuration was determined by that of the starting reagent (1S,2S)-(-)-1,2-diamino-hexane. The cyclo-hexane ring is in a chair conformation, and the substituents are equatorial in the most stable conformation (trans-cyclo-hexyl). The crystal structure is stabilized by two intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and a weak C-H⋯π inter-action.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C14H25NO3, contains two independent mol-ecules with similar geometry. The morpholine and cyclo-hexane rings of both mol-ecules adopt a chair conformation. Intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds are observed. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into chains parallel to the [101] direction. The chains are further connected through C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds forming undulating layers parallel to the (-101) plane. The absolute configuration was assigned by reference to an unchanging chiral centre in the synthetic procedure.

Project description:The title complex C42H48·2C6N4 {systematic name: hepta-cyclo[21.13.1.1(5,19).1(6,18).1(10,14).1(24,36).1(28,32)]do-tetra-conta-1(37),5(40),6(41),10(42),11,13,18,23,28,30,32(39),36(38)-dodeca-ene-ethene-tetra-carbo-nitrile (1/2)}, consisting of four-layered [3.3]meta-cyclo-phane (MCP) with two tetra-cyano-ethyl-ene (TCNE) mol-ecules, was grown from a mixture of MCP and TCNE in chloro-form solution. The four-layered [3.3]MCP has an S-shaped structure in which three [3.3]MCP moieties take syn-(chair-boat), anti-(chair-boat) and syn-(chair-boat) conformations. The two outer [3.3]MCP moieties with syn geometry contain benzene rings with a tilt of 32.95?(7)°. The central [3.3]MCP moiety has an anti geometry, in which the two benzene rings are oriented parallel to each other at a transannular distance of 2.31?Å. The TCNE mol-ecules are stacked on either side of the outer [3.3]MCP units at a distance of 3.19?Å on one side and 3.24?Å on the other, and showed 0.80:0.20 and 0.44:0.56 disorder, respectively.

Project description:In the title compound, C16H17NO3, the coumarin moiety is essentially planar [maximum deviation from the mean plane formed by the C and O atoms of the coumarin = 0.0183?(12)?Å] and that the cyclo-hexane ring adopts the usual chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the mean plane of the coumarin residue and the plane of the amide residue (defined as the N, C and O atoms) is 18.9?(2)°. There are two intra-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the amide group. In one, the N atom acts as donor to the ketonic O atom and in the other, the amide O atom acts as acceptor of a C-H group of the coumarin. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into inversion dimers by pairs of N-H?O contacts and these dimers are linked into pairs by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The combination of these inter-actions creates a chain of rings which runs parallel to [2-10]. C-H?? and ?-? [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8654?(10)?Å] inter-actions are also observed.

One hydrazinic H atom forms an intra-molecular hydrogen bond to the O atom; the other forms a classical inter-molecular hydrogen bond N-H?O, which combines with a 'weak' Har?O inter-action to build up double layers of mol-ecules parallel to the bc plane.
