ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [CdBr2(C8H8N2)2], the Cd(II) atom has a distorted tetra-hedral coordination formed by the two imino N atoms of two 2-methyl-benzimidazole ligands and two terminal bromide ligands. The Cd(II) atom is slightly out of the benzimidazole planes by 0.320?(3) and 0.210?(3)?Å. The dihedral angle between the benzimidazole planes is 71.6?(2)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?Br hydrogen bonds into puckered layers parallel to (001).

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(2)(NCS)(4)(C(8)H(8)N(2))(4)], is a centrosymmetric dinuclear cadmium(II) complex in which each two metal ions are linked by a pair of thio-cyanate N:S-bridges. Two 2-methyl-benzimidazole N-atom donors and one terminal thio-cyanate N atom complete a highly distorted square-pyramidal geometry around the Cd atom. In the crystal structure, two N-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions occur, resulting in a three-dimensional polymeric structure. The apical 2-methyl-benzimidazole ring and its symmetry-related counterpart are arranged in an anti-parallel manner with a centroid-centroid separation of 3.6050?(14)?Å, indicative of a ?-? inter-action.

Project description:The cyclo-hexane ring in the title compound, C(21)H(24)N(8), adopts a chair conformation and the five-membered heterocyclic ring to which it is fused adopts a twist conformation on their common C-C bond. The substituents on the N atoms of the central five-membered heterocycle are arranged trans with respect to the central ring. The terminal benzotriazole rings are oriented at angles of 74.66 (8) and 84.18 (8)° with respect to the mean plane of the central heterocycle. The angle between the two benzotriazole rings is 30.80 (9)°. The bond lengths and angles are within normal ranges; the largest deviation from expecta-tion is for a long N-CH(2) bond length [1.476 (2) Å] as a consequence of an anomeric effect. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(23)H(26)N(4)O·5H(2)O, has noncrystallographic twofold rotation symmetry in the solid state. It crystallizes with five solvent water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. Four of these water mol-ecules are connected with each other via hydrogen-bonding inter-actions to form two types of centrosymmetric hexa-meric (H(2)O)(6) rings. Via edge sharing of the hexa-mers, the water clusters thus build infinite chains that stretch parallel to the a axis. The fifth water mol-ecule provides an additional connection between the two hexa-meric (H(2)O)(6) units via hydrogen bonds to both rings. The water mol-ecules in the channels along the a axis are also bonded via O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds to the organic units, and face-to-face π-π inter-actions [with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.656 (1) Å and average face-to-face distances of 3.431 (5) Å] between the aromatic rings of adjacent mol-ecules complete the inter-molecular inter-actions in this structure.

Project description:The title dinuclear complex, [Fe2Br4(C13H9N4)2], which lies on an inversion center, features two approximately planar bis-(pyridin-2-yl)pyrazole (bpypz(-)) ligands [maximum deviation = 0.082?(3)?Å] and four bromide ions. Each Fe(III) ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by four N atoms of two bpypz(-) ligands and two Br ions. ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7004?(17)-4.0123?(18)?Å] are observed between pyridyl and pyrazole rings, and between pyridyl and pyridyl rings of adjacent complex mol-ecules.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cd(2)Cl(4)(C(5)H(8)N(2))(3)](n), contains two Cd(II) cations, three 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligands, and four Cl(-) anions. The two Cd(II) atoms have quite different coordination environments: one is octa-hedrally coordinated by four Cl atoms and two N atoms from two 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligands, and the second is in a severely distorted fivefold coordination by four Cl atoms and one N atom from a 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligand. Adjacent Cd(II) cations are inter-connected alternately by pairs of chloride bridges, generating an infinite step-like chain along the a axis. One ethyl group of the 1-ethyl-1H-imidazole ligand is disordered over two sets of sites with a 0.668?(13):0.332?(13) site-occupancy ratio.

The binuclear mol-ecule of (I) is located on a general position, while the mononuclear mol-ecule of (II) is situated on a twofold rotation axis. Both ZrIV atoms in (I) are ligated by one cyclo-penta-dienyl (CP) ring and four Br ligands (two bridging, two terminal), while in (II) the ZrIV atom is ligated by two CP rings and two terminal Br ligands. The crystal structures of both (I) and (II) comprise of strands of π-π- and N-π-bonded mol-ecules, which in turn are linked by C-H⋯Br inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C23H30N2O2, contains one half-mol-ecule, with a twofold axis splitting the mol-ecule in two identical halves. The structure of the racemic mixture has been reported previously [Rivera et al. (2009 ▶) J. Chem. Crystallogr. 39, 827-830] but the enanti-omer reported here crystallized in the ortho-rhom-bic space group P21212 (Z = 2), whereas the racemate occurs in the triclinic space group P-1 (Z = 2). The observed mol-ecular conformation is stabilized by two intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, which generate rings with graph-set motif S(6). In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via non-classical C-H⋯O inter-actions, which stack the mol-ecules along the b axis.
