ABSTRACT: The title compound, C20H21N3O, has crystallographic mirror symmetry with all non-H atoms apart from the methyl C atom of the CMe2 group lying on the mirror plane. Mol-ecules are linked into planar sheets parallel to (010) by phen-yl-azo C-H?N and phen-yl-ethanone C-H?O inter-actions. Methyl C-H?? inter-actions provide crosslinking between the planes.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C24H25NOSi, is a hydrolysis product of the reaction between 9-tri-methyl-silyfluorenyl lithium and 2-meth-oxy-benzo-nitrile. The fluorene ring system is substanti-ally planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.0288?Å from the best-fit plane through its 13?C atoms. This plane forms a dihedral angle of 58.07?(7)° with the 2-meth-oxy-benzyl-amine ring plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?? and C-H?? inter-actions, which leads to the formation of two-dimensional network lying parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(17)H(12)ClF(3)N(4)O(2)S, contains two mol-ecules, which differ in their planarity and hydrogen bonding. In one mol-ecule, the 2-oxoindolin (C(8)/N/O A), thio-semicarbazide (N(3)/C/S B) and 5-chloro-2-methyl-phenyl (C(7)/Cl C) units are planar with r.m.s. deviations of 0.0110, 0.0173 and 0.0259?Å, respectively. The dihedral angles A/B, B/C and A/C are 1.74?(15), 40.70?(13) and 41.00?(11)°, respectively. In the other mol-ecule the deviations are 0.0455, 0.0007 and 0.0143?Å, respectively, and the dihedral angles are 5.01?(14), 4.53?(16) and 3.38?(13)°, respectively. In both mol-ecules, intra-molecular N-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds form S(5) and S(6) ring motifs, respectively and C-H?S interactions occur. In one of the molecules, an intramolecular C-H?F interaction is also present. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O, C-H?F, C-H?O and N-H?S hydrogen bonding, forming a polymeric network.

Project description:The complete mol-ecule of the title hydrazine carbodi-thio-ate derivative, C32H30N4O2S4, is generated by a crystallographic twofold axis that bis-ects the di-sulfide bond. The mol-ecule is twisted about this bond with the C-S-S-C torsion angle of 90.70?(8)° indicating an orthogonal relationship between the symmetry-related halves of the mol-ecule. The conformation about the imine bond [1.282?(2)?Å] is E and there is limited delocalization of ?-electron density over the CN2C residue as there is a twist about the N-N bond [C-N-N-C torsion angle = -166.57?(15)°]. An intra-molecular hydroxyl-O-H?N(imine) hydrogen bond closes an S(6) loop. In the crystal, methyl-ene-C-H??(tol-yl) contacts assemble mol-ecules into a supra-molecular layer propagating in the ab plane: the layers stack without directional inter-actions between them. The analysis of the calculated Hirshfeld surfaces confirm the importance of H?H contacts, which contribute 46.7% of all contacts followed by H?C/C?H contacts [25.5%] reflecting, in part, the C-H??(tol-yl) contacts. The calculation of the inter-action energies confirm the importance of the dispersion term and the influence of the stabilizing H?H contacts in the inter-layer region.

Project description:The title Schiff base compound, C25H19NO2S, crystallizes in a statistically disordered structure comprising keto and enol tautomeric forms. In the enol form, the benzenoid arrangment is promoted by a strong intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond and adopts an E conformation about the imine bond. In the keto form there is an intramolecular N-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, an extended network of C-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilizes columns parallel to the c axis, forming large voids (there are four cavities of 108?Å(3) per unit cell) with highly disordered residual electron density. The SQUEEZE procedure in PLATON [Spek (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155] was used to eliminate the contribution of this electron density from the intensity data, and the solvent-free model was employed for the final refinement. The contribution of this undetermined solvent was ignored in the calculation of the unit-cell characteristics.
