Lipoma of the sinus tarsi.

ABSTRACT: Lipoma is rarely found in the foot. It is usually asymptomatic although sometimes can present with pain. We report a case of lipoma of the sinus tarsi presenting with functional instability.

Project description:A case of a pleomorphic lipoma in a 61 year old male is reported. This tumour is very rare and is usually seen in the head and neck region in the elderly. It is more often than not labelled malignant. The case is reported on account of its rarity and to highlight the unusual features which make it liable to be confused ns a malignant tumour.

Giant lipoma of the thigh: A case report.

Project description:A lipoma is a benign tumor which can occur in any part of the body; it is very frequent and can reach a considerable size. Differentiation between lipoma and liposarcoma of low grade malignancy represents an important diagnostic problem, and valuable help in the differential diagnosis is provided by ultrasonography (US), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), biopsy and/or modern immunohistochemistry. The authors report the case of a 50-year-old man who was referred to their department due to the presence of a large mass growing on the upper thigh of the right leg; over 7 years it had steadily increased in size causing pain and functional impotence. US of the soft tissues and CT scanning were performed. Densitometric values of the mass suggested adipose tissue, which was subsequently confirmed by biopsy.

Endoscopic resection of lipoma of the patellar tendon.

Project description:Synovial lipoma of the patellar tendon is a very rare entity. It can be associated with rupture of the patellar tendon. We present a case of synovial lipoma that was successfully resected endoscopically. The other indications for patellar tendoscopy include chronic patellar tendinitis and tendinosis, recalcitrant bursitis around the tendon, Osgood-Schlatter disease, and jumper's knee. The major potential danger of this endoscopic procedure is iatrogenic damage to the patellar insertion during endoscopic debridement in patients with jumper's knee or the tibial insertion during endoscopic debridement in patients with Osgood-Schlatter disease.

Lipoma of Hard Palate: Commonest Tumour at Rarest Site.

Project description:Lipoma is the most common benign soft tissue tumor. Lipomas are relatively uncommon tumours in the oral cavity accounting only 1-4 %. Half of oral lipomas are in the cheek and the remaining is found in the tongue, floor of the mouth, lips, palate, and gingival mucosa. We are reporting a case of lipoma that occurred in the hard palate, which is extremely rare.
