ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title complex, [HgCl2(C20H21N3)], synthesized from the quinoline-derived Schiff base N (1),N (1)-diethyl-N (4)-(quinolin-2-yl-methyl-idene)benzene-1,4-di-amine (QMBD), the coordination geometry around the Hg(2+) atom is distorted tetra-hedral, comprising two Cl atoms [Hg-Cl = 2.3654?(19) and 2.4394?(18)?Å] and two N-atom donors from the QMBD ligand, viz. one imine and quinoline [Hg-N = 2.334?(5) and 2.340?(5)?Å, respectively]. In the crystal, weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and weak ?-? aromatic ring stacking inter-actions [minimum ring-centroid separation = 3.680?(4)?Å] give an overall three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear molecule of the title complex, [Hg(2)Cl(4)(C(14)H(14)N(2))(2)], the five-coordinated Hg(II) ions have a distorted square-pyramidal geometry defined by two N atoms belonging to the chelating imino-pyridine ligand and three Cl atoms. The benzene and pyridine rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 56.7?(6)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.796?(6)?Å].

Project description:The whole mol-ecule of the title complex, [Hg2Cl4(C18H15N3)2], is generated by inversion symmetry. It was synthesized from the pyridine-derived Schiff base N-phenyl-N'-[(pyridin-2-yl)methyl-idene]benzene-1,4-di-amine (PPMBD). The five-coordinated Hg(2+) ions have a distorted square-pyramidal environment defined by two N atoms, viz. the imine and the other pyridyl [Hg-N = 2.467 (6) and 2.310 (6) Å, respectively] belonging to the bidentate imino-pyridine ligand, and three Cl atoms [Hg-Cl = 2.407 (2), 2.447 (2) and 3.031 (2) Å]. The longest Hg-Cl bond is bridging about the inversion centre. In the ligand, the central ring and pyridine ring are oriented at a dihedral angle of 8.1 (4)°, while the planes of the pyridine ring and the terminal phenyl ring are oriented at a dihedral angle of 53.8 (4)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to (001).

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [HgCl2(C3H8N2S)2], has point group symmetry 2, with the twofold rotation axis passing through the Hg(II) atom. The latter is coordinated by two Cl atoms and two N,N'-di-methyl-thio-urea (Dmtu) ligands through their S atoms, defining a distorted tetra-hedral coordination sphere with bond angles in the range 102.47 (4)-118.32 (4)°. Intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds of the type N-H⋯Cl with S(6) and R 2 (2)(12) ring motifs are present. The inter-molecular contacts make up polymeric chains extending parallel to [101].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(17)H(19)ClN(2), contains two independent mol-ecules which differ by a 180° flip in the orientation of the 4-chloro-aniline unit with respect to the diethyl-amino-benzyl-idene unit [N=C-C-C = 10.0?(3) and -170.6?(2)°]. Project description:The title Schiff base compound, C(32)H(22)N(4)O, was prepared by a reaction of 4,4'-diamino-diphenyl ether and 2-quinoline-carboxaldehyde. The mol-ecule consists of two 4-{N-[(E)-quinolin-2-yl-methyl-idene]amino}-phenyl units linked by an oxygen bridge. The dihedral angles between two benzene rings and between the two quinoline ring systems are 53.81?(7) and 42.56?(4)°, respectively. Inter-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [RuCl2(C12H9BrN2)2] or [RuCl2(PM-BrA)2] (PM-BrA = 4-bromo-N-(2'-pyridyl-methyl-ene)aniline), the Ru(II) cation is located on a centre of inversion and is surrounded by four N atoms of two PM-BrA ligands in the equatorial plane and by two Cl atoms in a trans axial arrangement, displaying a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. Two C atoms in the benzene ring of the PM-BrA ligand are equally disordered over two sets of sites. The benzene and pyridine rings of the PM-BrA ligand are oriented at dihedral angles of 62.1 (10) and 73.7 (11)° under consideration of the two orientations of the disordered benzene ring. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are connected via C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a layered arrangement parallel (100). C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonding and weak aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions complete a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:A tetra-nuclear ZnII complex, [Zn4(C13H11N6O)2Cl6(H2O)2] or {[Zn2(HL)(H2O)(Cl2)](?Cl)2[Zn2(HL)(H2O)(Cl)]}2, was synthesized by mixing an equimolar amount of a methanol solution containing ZnCl2 and a methanol solution containing the ligand H2 L [1,5-bis-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-ene)carbono-hydrazide]. In the tetra-nuclear complex, each of the two ligand mol-ecules forms a dinuclear unit that is connected to another dinuclear unit by two bridging chloride anions. In each dinuclear unit, one ZnII cation is penta-coordinated in a N2OCl2 in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, while the other ZnII cation is hexa-coordinated in a N3OCl2 environment with a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The basal plane around the penta-coordinated ZnII cation is formed by one chloride anion, one oxygen atom, one imino nitro-gen atom and one pyridine nitro-gen atom with the apical position occupied by a chloride anion. The basal plane of the hexa-coordinated ZnII cation is formed by one chloride anion, one hydrazinyl nitro-gen atom, one imino nitro-gen atom and one pyridine nitro-gen atom with the apical positions occupied by a water oxygen atom and a bridged chloro anion from another dinuclear unit, leading to a tetra-nuclear complex. A series of intra-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds is observed in each tetra-nuclear unit. In the crystal, the tetra-nuclear units are connected by inter-molecular C-H?Cl, C-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a planar two-dimensional structure in the ac plane.
