Crystal structure of nitridobis(tri-methyl-silanolato)[1,1,1-trimethyl-N-(tri-methyl-sil-yl)silanaminato]molybdenum(VI).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Mo(C6H18NSi2)(C3H9OSi)2N], the Mo(VI) cation is located on a mirror plane and is coordinated by a nitride anion, a 1,1,1-trimethyl-N-(tri-methyl-sil-yl)silanaminate anion and two tri-methyl-silanolate anions in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry; the N atom and two Si atoms of the 1,1,1-trimethyl-N-(tri-methyl-sil-yl)silanaminato anionic ligand are also located on the mirror plane. The Mo N bond length of 1.633?(6)?Å is much shorter than the Mo-N single-bond length of 1.934?(7)?Å. No hydrogen bonding is observed in the crystal structure.

Project description:The synthesis and crystal structures of two tris-(tri-alkyl-sil-yl)silyl bromide compounds, C9H27BrSi4 (I, HypSiBr) and C27H63BrSi4 (II, TipSiBr), are described. Compound I was prepared in 85% yield by free-radical bromination of 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexa-methyl-2-(tri-methyl-sil-yl)tris-ilane using bromo-butane and 2,2'-azobis(2-methyl-propio-nitrile) as a radical initiator at 333 K. The mol-ecule possesses threefold rotational symmetry, with the central Si atom and the Br atom being located on the threefold rotation axis. The Si-Br bond distance is 2.2990 (12) Å and the Si-Si bond lengths are 2.3477 (8) Å. The Br-Si-Si bond angles are 104.83 (3)° and the Si-Si-Si bond angles are 113.69 (2)°, reflecting the steric hindrance inherent in the three tri-methyl-silyl groups attached to the central Si atom. Compound II was prepared in 55% yield by free-radical bromination of 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexa-isopropyl-2-(triiso-propyl-sil-yl)tris-ilane using N-bromo-succinimide and 2,2'-azobis(2-methyl-propio-nitrile) as a radical initiator at 353 K. Here the Si-Br bond length is 2.3185 (7) Å and the Si-Si bond lengths range from 2.443 (1) to 2.4628 (9) Å. The Br-Si-Si bond angles range from 98.44 (3) to 103.77 (3)°, indicating steric hindrance between the three triiso-propyl-silyl groups.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C14H22N2O2Si2, contains one half of the mol-ecule, which is completed by inversion symmetry. The cyclo-hexa-2,5-diene ring is exactly planar and reflects the bond-length distribution of a pair of located double bonds [1.3224?(14)?Å] and two pairs of single bonds [1.5121?(13) and 1.5073?(14)?Å]. The tetra-hedral angle between the sp (3)-C atom and the two neighbouring sp (2)-C atoms in the cyclo-hexa-2,5-diene ring is enlarged by about 3°.

Project description:The title compound, C62H78N4P4Se2Si4·2C5H12, is made up of two [SeC(PPh2NSiMe3)(PPh2NHSiMe3)] units related by an inversion center situated at the mid-point of the diselenide bond. It crystallized with two disordered mol-ecules of pentane used as solvent of crystallization. It is a rare example of an anti-periplanar diselenide and exhibits a long Se-Se bond of 2.4717?(8)?Å. The Se-C bond length of 1.876?(5)?Å is short in comparison with the range of values found for other diselenides (1.91-1.97?Å). The mol-ecule exhibits two intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, there are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions present. One of the Me3Si- groups is disordered over two positions with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.708?(8):0.292?(8). The contribution of the disordered solvent to the scattering was removed with the SQUEEZE option of PLATON [Spek (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. The solvent contribution has been included in the reported mol-ecular weight and density.

Project description:The title compound, [Ge(CH3)3(C7H5O2)], was obtained as a by-product in the synthesis of the corresponding aldehyde. Two slightly different mol-ecules are present in the asymmetric unit. In both mol-ecules, the geometry of the aromatic ring plane is distorted by varying intensities. Additionally, the Ge atoms deviate from the mean aromatic ring planes. Whereas the distance of the Ge atom to the ring plane is only 0.101?(4)?Å in the first mol-ecule, this distance is increased to 0.210?(4)?Å in the second. The supramolecular aggregation is completed by weak C-H?? inter-actions of the methylene and phenyl groups with the benzene and pyrrole rings of the indole ring system. The methyl groups of the tri-methyl-silyl unit are equally disordered over two sets of sites.
