Gene expression changes induced by Dendrocalamus latiflorus leaf extract (DLE) and white tea extract (WTE) and pioglitazone (PGZ) in db/db mice liver

Project description:Eight-week-old C57BL/6J and T2DM db/db mice randomly divided into 4 groups of 8 based on equal bodyweight and fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels (mice were fasted for 6 h). The C57BL/6J mice (normal group) were treated with saline. The T2DM db/db mice were treated with saline, DLE (200 mg/kg), WTE (180 mg/kg), or pioglitazone (PGZ, 20 mg/kg) for 12 weeks, and were called the model group, DLE group, WTE group and PGZ group, respectively. All mice received oral administration of the indicated treatments once a day. After 12 weeks drug administration, liver aliquots from four randomly selected mice from the normal, model, PGZ and DLE groups were ground into powder in liquid nitrogen, followed by RNAseq for differentially expressed gene determination and pathway enrichment analysis.

Sedation of children prior to the surgery using nebulization of two doses of a same drug called dexmedetomidine to reduce parental separation anxiety.

Project description:Intervention1: Group B - 39 patients, 3 microgram/kg dexmedetomidine mixed in normal saline to make a total volume of 3 ml.: Group B will receive nebulisation with dexmedetomidine at a dose 3mcg/kg diluted with 0.9% normal saline to a total volume of 3 ml with a nebuliser face mask and a continuous flow of 100% oxygen at 6 L/min for 10 min once before induction of anaesthesia in sitting position. Project description:patients who meet the enrollment criteria will be randomized 1:1:1:1 to the different doses of lidocaine or the placebo group. In the lidocaine groups, at the beginning of surgery, lidocaine 0.5mg/kg, 1.0mg/kg, and 1.5mg/kg per hour were continuously infused (using ideal body weight) respectively during the whole procedure. In contrast, the control group was infused with the same dose of normal saline. All the infusion procedures will be stopped at the end of surgery

Project description:The mice (n=15) were randomly divided into 3 groups: Control, Ang Ⅱ, and Ang Ⅱ+QDG groups (n = 5 for each group). Mice in Control and Ang Ⅱ groups were infused with saline or 500 ng/kg/min of Ang Ⅱ respectively, and orally administrated with saline; while mice in Ang Ⅱ + QDG group were infused with Ang Ⅱ (500 ng/kg/min) and orally administrated with 1.145 g/kg /day of QDG for 2 weeks. Then the cardiac tissues were used to identify differentially expressed genes among different groups.

Project description:Fourteen human subjects (18-40 years of age) were studied. The control group (saline + LPS [n = 7]) received a 12 hour infusion of saline and the experimental group (cortisol + LPS [n = 7]) received a 12 hour infusion of cortisol (3 µg/kg/min). After 6 hours of saline or cortisol infusion, intravenous lipopolysaccharide (2 ng/kg) was administered to all subjects. Blood samples were collected at -24 hours, 0 hours, 6 hours and 24 hours relative to LPS administration at 0 hours. Leukocytes and monocytes were isolated from these blood samples, total RNA extracted, and microarray analyses performed using Affymetrix Focus GeneChips®.
