Defective mitophagy and enhanced oxidative stress dictate regulatory T cell impairment in autoimmunity
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Regulatory T cell (Treg) impairment is a common denominator of autoimmune pathologies. Despite the extensive characterization of Treg cell phenotype in autoimmunity, the molecular mechanisms underlying their deterioration remain ill defined. To investigate Treg dysfunction during autoimmunity we performed transcriptomic analysis of CD4+CD25highCD127- Treg cells from peripheral blood of patients with autoimmunity.
