The in vitro influence of orexin B on the porcine endometrium on days 15 to 16 of gestation.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Orexins, namely orexin A (OXA) and orexin B (OXB) belongs to the family of neuropeptides produced mainly by specific neurons of the lateral region of the hypothalamus. Primarily orexins were recognized as hormones involved exclusively in the regulation of food intake and energy homeostasis. However, a growing body of evidences indicate their involvement in the regulation of an increasing number of biological processes, inter alia, in the regulation of the reproductive functions. The aim of this study was to explore the influence of orexin B on global gene expression in the porcine endometrium during early gestation, on days 15 to 16 of pregnancy (implantation period).
