Genome-wide analysis of murine white adipose tissue gene expression in response to an overexpression of mitochondrial ferritin
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Analysis of mitochondrial matrix iron overload in white adipose tissue at the gene expression level. The hypothesis tested in the present study was that iron overload in mitochondria of white adipose tissue will cause a unique mitochondrial perturbation in white fat. Results should provide information regarding the critical compensatory mechanisms by which the adipocyte repsonses to mitochondrial dysfunction; locally and at the whole-body level, such as the key genes up- and downregulation in response to mitochondrial iron overload.
