2-arachidonoyl glycerol (2-AG) modulated miRNAs expression in human cholangiocarcinoma
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is dysregulated in various liver diseases. Biliary tract cancers (BTCs) encompass gallbladder carcinoma, intrahepatic, perihilar and distal cholangiocarcinoma. Previously we have shown that the two major endocannabinoids (ECs), anandamide (AEA) and 2-arachidonoyl glycerol (2-AG) exerted opposing effects on BTCs cell lines in which 2-AG promoted tumor proliferation. The underlying mechanism and regulation of 2-AG on miRNAs expression in BTCs remain inconclusive.
