RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing (RIP-seq) of human Dicer-bound miRNAs in HIV-1 Gag replicating cells.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Micro (mi)RNAs are critical regulators of gene expression in human cells, whose functions can be affected during viral replication. We showed that the Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1 (HIV-1) Gag protein interacts with the human miRNA processor Dicer and modifies its retention of specific miRNAs without affecting the enzyme’s pre-miRNA processing activity. This sequencing experiment was performed to elucidate whether the presence of Gag in human cells has an effect on the distribution of miRNAs loaded onto Dicer.
