Expression data of NIT-1 cells treated with CdSO4

ABSTRACT: Cadmium is a widespread environmental heavy metal pollutant as well as a strong endocrine disruptor. Epidemiologic evidence shows a positive correlation between cadmium levels in humans and the incidence of diabetes mellitus. Moreover, cadmium can accumulate in pancreatic islet and induce oxidative damage, apoptosis and decreased insulin. However, the specific mechanisms involved have not been completely elucidated. We hope to use microarrays to explore the mechanism by analyzing the changes of genes during the process of cadmium damage in islet β-cells.
