Regulation of adipocyte de-differentiation and subsequent re-differentiation
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: We show the presence of de-differentiated fat (DFAT) cells in subcutaneous and visceral adipose depots under different dietary intervention conditions, whose transcriptomes resemble adipocytes with high differentiation potential and late-stage adipose stem and progenitor cells (ASPC). These data uncover the potential of adipocytes to undergo de-differentiation under regular physiological conditions and shed light on its role in life style change-induced weight loss and regain.
