Immunostimulatory effects of Streptococcus sanguinis extracellular membrane vesicles protect oral gingival epithelial cells from periodontal pathobiont damage
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Gingival epithelial cells internalize Streptococcus sanguinis EMVs within 24 hours of inoculation, resulting in an immune response that does not cause cell death. To look at the global transcriptomic response to S. sanguinis EMVs, we performed an RNA sequencing experiment comparing SK36 EMV and PBS-inoculated TIGK cells.
