Altered cell signaling in the absence of Dynamin function: a transcriptomic approach from yeast to humans (yeast)
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Dynamins are large multidomain GTPases involved in membrane scission. We have investigated the transcriptional consequences of deleting Vps1, a DNM2 homologue, in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Interestingly, the vps1∆ mutation causes strong transcriptional defects also in yeast. Data suggest that DNM2 and Vps1 play an essential regulatory role connecting several membrane-related processes including endocytosis, lipid homeostasis and different signal transduction pathways.
