Exposure to a low-dose pollutant mixture does not trigger obesity in female mice but results in metabolic disturbances showing both common and specific features as compared to a high-fat diet challenge

ABSTRACT: In order to identify pollutants effects on liver metabolism in mice, 12 weeks old female mice were submitted to 3 differents diets. Either a standard diet or a high fat diet containing or not a mixture of 4 pollutants. Mice were fed with these diets from preconception to 12 weeks old. Mice were sacrificed and livers were taken and immediately snap frozen until further processing. Microarrays analysis were performed in order to identify direct pollutants effects.
