<b>Purpose:</b> As a Chinese medicinal herb, <i>Desmodium styracifolium</i> (Osb.) Merr (DS) has been applied clinically to alleviate crystal-induced kidney injuries, but its effective components and their specific mechanisms still need further exploration.
