The LC-MS/MS analysis of human leukocytes in atherosclerosis related and non-related to chronic kidney disease


ABSTRACT: We performed quantitative and qualitative proteomic analysis by nanoLC-MS/MS to study the global changes in proteome of leukocytes isolated from peripheral blood of patients in various stages of chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease as compared to healthy controls.

A progressive loss of functional nephrons defines chronic kidney disease (CKD). Complications related to cardiovascular disease (CVD) are the principal causes of mortality in CKD; however, the acceleration of CVD in CKD remains unresolved.
