In Southeast Asian countries, nitrosamine compounds and the liver fluke <i>Opisthorchis viverrini</i> have long been identified as carcinogens for cholangiocarcinoma (CHCA). In order to effectively treat <i>O. viverrini</i> infections and prevent the development of CHCA, methods for disease detection are needed.
