Human Lysozyme Treated Salmonella Tm. Supernatant


ABSTRACT: lysozyme-untreated Salmonella spent media and lysozyme-treated salmonella supernatant have different effects on intestinal epithelial permeability. To analyze the content and the different between the two supernatants, we did the proteomics to identify the proteins.

Lysozyme is a β-1,4-glycosidase that hydrolyzes the polysaccharide backbone of bacterial cell walls. With an additional bactericidal function mediated by a separate protein domain, lysozyme is considered a uniquely important antimicrobial molecule contributing to the host's innate immune response to infection.
