Project description:Differential expression analysis of human central Amygdala samples with a story of opioid use disorder (OUD) vs. unaffected control central Amygdala samples
Project description:This 58 arrays are the basis of our hypoxia story published in PLoS Medicine. The cell type, oxygen tension and time points are indicated.

Project description:Trial described in Lancet. 2006 Sep 2;368(9538):855-63. Rheumatoid arthritis patients were treated with chaperonin 10, with a dose of 10 mg rCpn10 i.v. twice weekly for 56 days. Blood samples were collected before and after treatment. Microarray analysis described in Hirata et al., Early pregnancy factor, chaperonin 10 and rheumatoid arthritis; the story unravels. J Transl Sci 2018.
Project description:Our experiment is to compare Glyco-gene expression by interferon-gamma/TNF-treated human corneal epithelial cells also treated either with cell communication glycoprotein 'lacritin' or negative control deletion construct 'C-25 lacritin'. In a newly developing story, lacritin but not C-25 protects human corneal epithelial cells from INFG/TNF-induced cell death. This expression array will help work out the mechanism of protection to complement phosphoblotting and shRNA approaches currently underway.
Project description:Case story. A patient with massive infiltration of the visceral adipose tissue depot by BAT in a patient with a catecholamine secreting paraganglioma. BAT tissue was identified by protein expression of UCP1 (western blotting and immunostaining) The goal of the study is to identify patterns of gene expression in BAT containing visceral fat compared to the patient's own subcutanous fat which did not express BAT. For comparison a pool of mRNA isolated from visceral fat from obese subjects was used.
Project description:Profiling project of CRC patient material collected in the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We focused on a set of 90 AJCC stage II patients that underwent intentionally curative surgery in the years 1997-2006 (AMC-AJCCII-90). Extensive medical records are kept from these patients and long-term clinical follow-up is available for the large majority. Both paraffin-embedded as well as fresh frozen tissue is available from all these patients for analysis. 90 AJCC stage II CRC patients were included in the story
Project description:While identification of genes mutated in high penetrance tumor predisposition syndromes has been a success story, much less progress has been made in characterizing the genetic basis of low penetrance tumor susceptibility. Combining recently introduced chip-based technologies with traditional genealogy work we have identified inactivating germline mutations in patients with pituitary adenoma predisposition (PAP). The experiment consisted of a collection of blood samples from identified families where PAP was observed and analysis of gene expression data used together with SNP genoptyping and linkage analysis. The findings were further studied using direct screening and other supporting methods. Keywords: affected and obligatory carriers vs controls
