Transcription profiling of Saccharomyces cerevisiae under serial stresses

Project description:S. cerevisae cells were exposed to different series of mild stresses. Stress type include heat shock, oxidative and osmotic stresses. Microarrays were used to follow the genome-wide transcriptional response to the stresses and to identify genes that can underlie the cross protection phenotype between heat shock and oxidative stress. Experiment Overall Design: Cell sample at different time points after stress application were used for RNA extraction and hybridization on Affymetrix microarrays.

Through analysis the transcriptomic data of Saccharomyces cerevisiae with different ploidy under low pH stress, we hope to find the tolerance mechanism of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to low pH.

Expression analysis of Saccharomyces cerevisiae INVSc1 under accumulation of the bacterial alarmone ppGpp

Project description:ppGpp accumulation caused by ectopic expression of RelA in Saccharomyces cerevisiae gave rise to marked changes in gene expression with both upregulation and downregulation, including changes in mitochondrial gene expression. The most prominent upregulation (38-fold) was detected in the function-unknown hypothetical gene YBR072C-A, followed by many other known stress-responsive genes. ppGpp acuumulation resulted in enhancement of tolerance against various stress stimuli, such as osmotic stress, ethanol, hydrogen peroxide, and high temperature.
