Project description:Plant hormones and small secretory peptides often function as environmental stress mediators. Some recent reports indicate that small secretory peptides, such as CLAVATA3/EMBRYO SURROUNDING REGION-RELATED (CLE), also function as mediators of environmental stimuli. CLE3 is induced in roots by defense elicitor treatment. Plants without functional CLE3 showed compromized defense gene responses in shoots when plant roots were treated with NaSA. Here, we identified specific genes downstream of CLE3 in roots and shoots with transformed Arabidopsis plants.
Project description:DCA (3,5-Dichloroanthranilic acid) is a newly identified synthetic defense elicitor. To perform a comparative analysis of defense responses triggered by DCA and the structurally related defense inducer INA (2,6-Dichloroisonicotinic acid) Affymetrix chip experiments were performed with Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings treated with one of these two compounds.
Project description:We produced RNA-seq reads from messenger RNA isolated from aerial seedling tissue for Arabidopsis thaliana mutants in the HULK gene family. The read data were generated with biological replication (two replicates). The resulting RNA-seq data provide a resource to assess the function of HULK genes in the control of downstream gene expression in A. thaliana.
