Project description:Investigation of whole genome gene expression level changes in the youngest expanded leaves of open-pollinated Golden Delicious seedlings either sprayed with reverse osmosis water or acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM). Treatment was performed by spraying sprayed to runoff (with a pressurized hand sprayer) with the commercial product Bion 50 WG (Syngenta, Basel, Switzerland; 50% of ASM) prepared in reverse osmosis water at a final concentration of 0.4 g/L. The youngest developped leaf of each seedling was sampled 3 days after the treatment.

Project description:Investigation of whole genome gene expression level changes in the youngest expanded leaves of GDDH13 grafted scions either sprayed with reverse osmosis water or acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM) either exposed to control temperature (21°C/day ; 18°C/night) or three successive heat days (35°C for 4 h during the day ; 18°C/night). The morning of the third heat day, treatment was performed by spraying to runoff (with a pressurized hand sprayer) with the commercial product Bion 50 WG (Syngenta, Basel, Switzerland; 50% of ASM) prepared in reverse osmosis water at a final concentration of 0.4 g/L. All plants were then returned to control thermal conditions (21°C/day ; 18°C/night) for 2 days. The youngest developped leaf of each plant was sampled 72 hours after the treatment.

Project description:Based on sensorial analysis over 4 years, 6 apple genotypes with contrasted fruit texture (mealy or not) were selected among a progeny. Apple samples were collected at 100 days after flowering (100 DAF), harvest (H), after 2 and 4 months of cold storage (60DAH and 120DAH respectively). 6 apple hybrids were analysed in dye-switch. Biological replicates are fruits from 2 to 4 different harvest years. Each mealy hybrid was compared to a non-mealy hybrid from the same harvest year in 12 dye-swap 3 pairs at 4 four time points).

Project description:Plant resistance inducers (PRIs) and nitrogen (N) nutrition are both factors known to act on plant defence but their interaction has been little studied and needs further research. The objective of the study was to further characterize this interaction on apple (Malus domestica) plantlets at the molecular level. The produced dataset allows the investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying: i) the biotic resistance induced by ASM treatments on apple seedlings, ii) their response to different nitrogen (N) status (N limitation or subsequent N resupply), iii) the combination of both N status and ASM treatment.
