Project description:Total RNA was isolated with TRIZOL reagent from wild-type flies (yellow white, yw) and Pumilio mutant flies (pum13; Barker DD. et al. (1992) Genes Dev 6, 2312-26). 12 microgram of total RNA was used for cDNA synthesis using a 1:1 mixture of oligo(dT) and random nonamer primers and in the presence of amino-allyl dUTP.
Project description:Phenobarbital is a well studied xenobiotic compound. In this study, we describe the genomic responses in fruit flies and examine whether animals mutant for DHR96, an ortholog of xenobiotic nuclear receptors PXR and CAR, plays a role in mediating xenobiotic responses in Drosophila. Keywords: dose response in mutant vs. wild type
Project description:Single channel custom oligonucleotide array of 147 microRNAs to detect changes in expression of a lgl-hypomorph mutant versus wild-type 0, 3, and 5 day old 3rd instar lgl-hypomorph larvae were compared to 0 day 3rd instar wild-type larvae to test for differences in microRNA expression
Project description:Because pink1-mutant flies exhibit a global shutdown of protein synthesis, we decided to measure the levels of individual proteins in adult flies through quantitative proteomics.
