Transcription profiling by array of human oocytes to investigate the association between meiotic aneuploidy and altered oocyte gene expression
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: This study combined a comprehensive cytogenetic investigation of oocytes with a detailed assessment of their transcriptome. The 1st polar body was removed from all oocytes and aneuploidy assessed using comparative genomic hybridization. mRNA transcript data was produced with the use of microarrays for 7 of the corresponding oocytes (3 normal and 4 aneuploid). The results obtained for normal and aneuploid oocytes were compared and 327 genes were found to display statistically significant differences in transcript levels.
