Mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCNs) of the pancreas are uncommon neoplasms usually located in the body or tail of the pancreas and usually in females (>90% of cases). Clinically, they are often misdiagnosed as non-neoplastic pseudocysts leading to failed opportunities for curative resection.
