ABSTRACT: The title com-pound, {[Ni(C₁₂H₁₄O₄)(C₁₁H₉N₃O)(H₂O)]·H₂O}_n, contains octa-hedrally coordinated Ni^II ions ligated by adamantane-1,3-di-carboxyl-ate (adc) and N-(pyridin-3-yl)isonicotinamide (3-pina) ligands forming coordination polymer layers with a (4,4) grid topology. These diperiodic layer motifs aggregate in an AAA pattern mediated by supra-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions to form the full triperiodic crystal structure of the title com-pound.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[Mn(C(12)H(14)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the Mn(II) atom has a highly distorted cis-MnN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry arising from its coordination by a bidentate phenanthroline ligand, a water mol-ecule and monodentate and bidentate adamantane-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate dianions. The bridging dianion leads to [001] chains in the crystal. The chains are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, involving both the coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules, thereby forming a two-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Co(2)(C(16)H(6)O(8))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O}(n), one Co(II) ion has a {CoN(2)O(4)} distorted octa-hedral environment defined by two N atoms of one 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, three O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups of three biphenyl-3,3',4,4'-tetra-carboxyl-ate (BPTC) ligands, one of which is bidentate, and one O atom from one coordinated water mol-ecule. The other Co(II) atom is surrounded by six O atoms from four different BPTC ligands and one coordinated water mol-ecule. Each BPTC ligand forms eight coordination bonds with seven Co(II) atoms, leading to a layer structure along the ac plane. Uncoordinated water mol-ecules occupy the space between the layers, and inter-act via inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds along the b axis, generating a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The title compound, {[Co(C(2)H(5)COO)(2)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), was synthesized by the reaction of cobalt(II) carbonate hydrate with aqueous propionic acid. The structure consists of polymeric infinite linear chains with composition [Co(C(2)H(5)COO)(4/2)(H(2)O)(2/2)](∞) running along [010]. The chains are formed by Co(2+) ions linked with bridging propionate groups and water mol-ecules, with a Co⋯Co distance along the chains of 3.2587 (9) Å. The Co(2+) ion is six-coordinated in a strongly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The chains are connected to each other by a network of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving solvent water mol-ecules.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Co(3)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O}(n), consists of four crystallographically independent Co cations, four benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (bdc) anions, two water and one methanol solvent mol-ecule. Two of the Co cations and two of the bdc anions are located on centres of inversion, whereas all other atoms are located in general positions. In the crystal, two Co atoms are only fourfold coordinated by three O atoms from three bdc ligands and by one O atom from one coordinated water mol-ecule, while a third Co atom is coordinated by four O atoms from four bdc ligands within a strongly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The other two Co cations are octa-hedrally coordinated by six O atoms from six bdc anions. The Co cations are linked by the bdc anions into a three-dimensional framework. From this arrangement, cavities are formed in which additional methanol and water mol-ecules are embedded.

Project description:In the polymeric structure of the title compound {[Li(2)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)Li(H(2)O)(2)Li(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the coordination of two independent Li(I) ions is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal and that of the other two independent Li(I) ions is distorted tetra-hedral. The former two Li(I) ions are bridged by hetero-ring N atoms of two independent pyridazine-3,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, making a dimeric moiety. The carboxyl-ato-O atoms of both bidentate ligands bridge the dimers to adjacent independent aqua-coordinated Li(I) ions, forming mol-ecular ribbons. The latter are bridged by ligand carboxyl-ato and aqua O atoms, forming mol-ecular layers parallel to (100) which are held together by an extended system of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The square-pyramidal coordination geometry around the Cu(II) ion is completed by the bridging bipyridine ligand and an apical water molecule. Adjacent complexes are connected via O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to generate a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.
