Catena-Poly[[[aqua-(1,10-phenanthro-line)manganese(II)]-μ-adamantane-1,3-dicarboxyl-ato] monohydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, {[Mn(C(12)H(14)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the Mn(II) atom has a highly distorted cis-MnN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry arising from its coordination by a bidentate phenanthroline ligand, a water mol-ecule and monodentate and bidentate adamantane-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate dianions. The bridging dianion leads to [001] chains in the crystal. The chains are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, involving both the coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules, thereby forming a two-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[FeMn(C(5)H(5))(C(13)H(7)O(4))(C(10)H(9)N(3))(H(2)O)]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O}(n), the Mn(II) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and is ligated by two N atoms from two di-2-pyridyl-amine mol-ecules, three O atoms from two 5-ferrocenyl-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate anions and one O atom from a coordinated water mol-ecule. The Mn-O distances range from 2.151 (2) to 2.5093 (19) Å, while the Mn-N distances are 2.226 (2) and 2.248 (2) Å. Each 5-ferrocenyl-benzene-1,5-dicarboxyl-ate anion links to two Mn(II) ions, resulting in a chain along the b axis. A three-dimensional network of N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds helps to stabilize the crystal packing.

The Fe(II) centre displays a distorted octa-hedral geometry, being surrounded by one phen ligand, two μ(2)-O atoms of two carboxyl-ate groups from two Hbtc ligands, one O atom from one carboxyl-ate of another Hbtc ligand and one terminal water mol-ecule. Project description:In the polymeric structure of the title compound {[Li(2)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)Li(H(2)O)(2)Li(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the coordination of two independent Li(I) ions is distorted trigonal-bipyramidal and that of the other two independent Li(I) ions is distorted tetra-hedral. The former two Li(I) ions are bridged by hetero-ring N atoms of two independent pyridazine-3,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, making a dimeric moiety. The carboxyl-ato-O atoms of both bidentate ligands bridge the dimers to adjacent independent aqua-coordinated Li(I) ions, forming mol-ecular ribbons. The latter are bridged by ligand carboxyl-ato and aqua O atoms, forming mol-ecular layers parallel to (100) which are held together by an extended system of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the binuclear centrosymmetric title compound, [Er(2)(C(12)H(14)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(15)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, contains one Er(III) atom, one coordinated water mol-ecule, one 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, two differently coordinated adamantane-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate (H(2)L) ligands and one lattice water mol-ecule. The Er(III) ion is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from bridging L(2-), one O atom from HL(-), one O atom from the coordinated water and two N atoms from a phen ligand. Extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions result in the formation of chains which are further linked into a layer-like network by π-π stacking inter-actions centroid-centroid distance = 3.611 (3) Å] between adjacent phen ligands belonging to neighbouring chains. The carboxy group of the HL(-) ligand is equally disordered over two positions.

The chains contain six-coordinate Mn(II) ions bridged by formate anions. They are further extended into a three-dimensional network via O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions and inter-chain π-π stacking inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.679 (4) Å.

Project description:A new cadmium(II) coordination polymer, {[Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·0.5C(8)H(6)O(4)}(n), has been synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit contains one Cd(II) atom, one benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate anion, one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, one coordinated water mol-ecule and half of an uncoordinated benzene-1,4-dicaboxylic acid solvent mol-ecule. The Cd(II) atom is in the centre of a monocapped distorted octa-hedron made up of four O atoms of two chelating benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one water O atom and two 1,10-phenanthroline N atoms. The metal centres are connected via bis-chelating benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate anions into a zigzag chain structure along [001]. These chains are further connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and adjacent carboxyl-ate O atoms. Additional O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the uncoordinated benzene-1,4-dicaboxylic acid mol-ecules along [010] consolidates the structure.

The Co(II) atoms are bridged by the PZDC dianions, forming an infinite one-dimensional chain running along the b axis. Adjacent chains pack together through ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid separations = 3.498?(4) and 3.528?(4)?Å], and O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecule complete the structure.
