Poly[[aqua-(1-naphthyl-acetato)cadmium(II)]-μ(3)-pyridin-3-olato].

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cd(C(5)H(4)NO)(C(12)H(9)O(2))(H(2)O)](n), each Cd(II) atom is coordinated by two carboxylate O atoms from one 1-naphthyl-acetate ligand, two hydroxyl O atoms from two pyridin-3-olate ligands, one N atom from another pyridin-3-olate ligand and one water mol-ecule, and displays a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The compound forms infinite chains of pyridin-3-olate ligands bridging 1-naphthyl-acetate-Cd(II) units parallel to the b axis, with a Cd⋯Cd separation of 3.578 (2) Å. The chains are further self-assembled into a supra-molecular network through inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title dinuclear ionic complex, [Cd(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(H(2)O)(8)][Cd(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(8)(C(4)H(4)N(2))], the cation and anion are disordered equally over a site with symmetry mmm. The Cd(II) ions and the N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on the inter-section of two crystallographic mirror planes. The C atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on one of these mirror planes, and the acetate groups and water mol-ecules lie across the inter-secting mirror planes. Each Cd(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand, whereas each Cd(II) in the anion is nine-coordinated by four pairs of O atoms from the bidentate acetate ligands and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand. In the crystal structure, each anion is surrounded by eight nearest-neighbour cations and vice versa. The crystal structure is stabilized by ionic inter-actions as well as by C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title complex, [BaCd(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), the Ba(II) atoms, located on crystallographic twofold axes, adopt slightly distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination geometries, while the Cd(II) atoms, which lie on crystallographic centres of symmetry, have a distorted octa-hedral coordination. Each malonate dianion binds two different Cd(II) atoms and two different Ba(II) atoms. This connectivity generates alternating layers along [100] in the structure, with one type containing Cd(II) cations and malonate dianions, while the other is primarily composed of Ba(II) ions and coordinated water mol-ecules. The water mol-ecules also participate in extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the title compound, [Na(C₁₁H₁₁ClN₃O₃)(H₂O)](n), there are two independent Na(I) ions, one of which lies on an inversion center and is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. The other Na(I) ion lies on a twofold rotation axis and is cooordinated in a slightly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. In the organic ligand, the imidazolidine ring adopts a half-chair conformation. The Na(I) ions bridge organic ligands and water mol-ecules, forming a two-dimensional structure parallel to (100). Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CO(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N(3))(H(2)O)](n), the Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. The N atoms of the two chelating symmetry-related 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligands and the O atoms of the two monodentate acetate anions are nearly coplanar, with a mean deviation from the least-squares plane of 0.157?(2)?Å and the Cu(II) ion is displaced by 0.050?(3)?Å from this plane towards the apical water O atom. Bridging through the bis-monodentate 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligand forms a one-dimensional coordination polymer extending parallel to [010]. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular structure parallel to (100). The crystal studied was an inversion twin with a 0.57?(3):0.43?(3) domain ratio.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), is a new coordination polymer of benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate with cadmium(II) and 1,10-phenanthroline. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule, three O atoms from two crystallographically independent benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule, forming a heavily distorted octa-hedron. The 1,10-phenanthroline ligand is approximately planar within 0.073 (4) Å. The two different benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands each coordinate to two Cd(II) ions in bidentate and monodentate modes, forming an infinite zigzag chain. Adjacent chains are packed tightly by strong π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.851 (2) and 3.859 (2) Å] between the aromatic rings of the benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and the 1,10-phenanthroline of a neighboring chain, forming a sheet parallel to (011). Different sheets are linked together via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and the O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(4)(C(7)H(6)N(2))(4)(H(2)O)], the half-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit is completed by a crystallographic twofold rotation axis to give the full mol-ecule. The Co(II) ions are approximately octahedrally coordinated with a cis-N(2)O(4) coordination sphere. The compound features intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the non-bridging acetate groups and the bridging water mol-ecule, and inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the acetates and amine H atoms of the benzimidazoles which determine the mol-ecular packing in the crystal structure.
