Poly[[aqua-(1-naphthyl-acetato)cadmium(II)]-μ(3)-pyridin-3-olato].

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cd(C(5)H(4)NO)(C(12)H(9)O(2))(H(2)O)](n), each Cd(II) atom is coordinated by two carboxylate O atoms from one 1-naphthyl-acetate ligand, two hydroxyl O atoms from two pyridin-3-olate ligands, one N atom from another pyridin-3-olate ligand and one water mol-ecule, and displays a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The compound forms infinite chains of pyridin-3-olate ligands bridging 1-naphthyl-acetate-Cd(II) units parallel to the b axis, with a Cd⋯Cd separation of 3.578 (2) Å. The chains are further self-assembled into a supra-molecular network through inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title dinuclear ionic complex, [Cd(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(H(2)O)(8)][Cd(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(8)(C(4)H(4)N(2))], the cation and anion are disordered equally over a site with symmetry mmm. The Cd(II) ions and the N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on the inter-section of two crystallographic mirror planes. The C atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on one of these mirror planes, and the acetate groups and water mol-ecules lie across the inter-secting mirror planes. Each Cd(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand, whereas each Cd(II) in the anion is nine-coordinated by four pairs of O atoms from the bidentate acetate ligands and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand. In the crystal structure, each anion is surrounded by eight nearest-neighbour cations and vice versa. The crystal structure is stabilized by ionic inter-actions as well as by C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CO(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N(3))(H(2)O)](n), the Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. The N atoms of the two chelating symmetry-related 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligands and the O atoms of the two monodentate acetate anions are nearly coplanar, with a mean deviation from the least-squares plane of 0.157 (2) Å and the Cu(II) ion is displaced by 0.050 (3) Å from this plane towards the apical water O atom. Bridging through the bis-monodentate 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligand forms a one-dimensional coordination polymer extending parallel to [010]. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular structure parallel to (100). The crystal studied was an inversion twin with a 0.57 (3):0.43 (3) domain ratio.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(C(7)H(6)NO(2)S)(2)(H(2)O)](n), consists of extended layers parallel to (001) with 2-(pyridin-4-ylsulfan-yl)acetate ligands bridging the Zn(II) atoms. The Zn(II) atom shows a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. The Zn(II) and one O atom are situated on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, intra-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions help to consolidate the coordination layer.

Project description:The title polymeric compound, {[Cd(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O}(n) or {[Cd(2)(hypydc)(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O}(n) (where hypydcH(2) is 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), was synthesized by the reaction of cadmium(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate with 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and propane-1,3-diamine, in a 1:2:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution. The compound is a seven-coordinate binuclear polymeric complex with distorted penta-gonal bipyramidal geometry around Cd(II) [Cd-O = 2.247 (4)-2.474 (3) Å]. In the binuclear monomeric units, the central atoms join together by O atoms of two bridging tridentate (hypydc)(2-) ligands, and the polymer propagates via two bridging water mol-ecules that link each Cd(II )centre of one monomer to the adjacent neighbour. Propane-1,3-diamine (pn) does not appear in the product but plays a role as a base. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and π-π stacking inter-actions, with distances of 3.725 (3) and 3.766 (3) Å, connect the various components.

Project description:In the title compound, [CuK(2)(C(3)N(2)O(3))(2)(H(2)O)(3)](n), the Cu(2+) atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. Two N atoms belonging to the oxime groups and two O atoms belonging to the carboxyl-ate groups of two trans-disposed doubly deprotonated residues of 2-cyano-2-(hy-droxy-imino)-acetic acid make up the basal plane and the apical position is occupied by the water mol-ecule. The neighboring Cu-containing moieties are linked into a three-dimensional framework by K-O and K-N contacts formed by two potassium cations with the carboxyl-ate and the oxime O atoms and the nitrile N atoms of the ligand. The environments of the K(+) cations are complemented to octa- and nona-coordinated, by K-O contacts with H(2)O mol-ecules. The crystal structure features O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [BaCd(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), the Ba(II) atoms, located on crystallographic twofold axes, adopt slightly distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination geometries, while the Cd(II) atoms, which lie on crystallographic centres of symmetry, have a distorted octa-hedral coordination. Each malonate dianion binds two different Cd(II) atoms and two different Ba(II) atoms. This connectivity generates alternating layers along [100] in the structure, with one type containing Cd(II) cations and malonate dianions, while the other is primarily composed of Ba(II) ions and coordinated water mol-ecules. The water mol-ecules also participate in extensive O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.
