ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cd(C4H5NO4)(H2O)2] n , the Cd(II) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry, defined by one N atom and three O atoms from two iminodi-acetate (IDA) ligands and two water molecules. The tridentate IDA ligand additionally bridges via one of its carboxylate O atoms to another Cd(II) atom, thus forming a zigzag chain along [001]. A three-dimensional network is completed by inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), is a new coordination polymer of benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate with cadmium(II) and 1,10-phenanthroline. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule, three O atoms from two crystallographically independent benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule, forming a heavily distorted octa-hedron. The 1,10-phenanthroline ligand is approximately planar within 0.073 (4) Å. The two different benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligands each coordinate to two Cd(II) ions in bidentate and monodentate modes, forming an infinite zigzag chain. Adjacent chains are packed tightly by strong π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.851 (2) and 3.859 (2) Å] between the aromatic rings of the benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and the 1,10-phenanthroline of a neighboring chain, forming a sheet parallel to (011). Different sheets are linked together via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and the O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the crystal of the title polymeric complex, [Cd(C12H8O4)(H2O)2] n , the Cd(II) cation, located on a twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by two water mol-ecules and chelated by two phenyl-enediacrylate anions (mpda) in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The mpda anions bridge the Cd(II) cations, forming helical chains propagating along the c-axis direction. The mpba anion has twofold symmetry with two benzene C atoms located on the twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the polymeric helical chains into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Mg(H2P2O6)(H2O)4] n , is built up from (H2P2O6)(2-) anions bridging Mg(2+) cations into chains extending parallel to [011]. The Mg(2+) ion is located on an inversion centre and is octa-hedrally coordinated by the O atoms of two (H2P2O6)(2-) anions and four water mol-ecules. The centrosymmetric (H2P2O6)(2-) anion has a staggered conformation whereby the tetra-valent phospho-rus atom is surrounded tetra-hedrally by three O atoms and by one symmetry-related P atom. A three-dimensional O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonded network of medium strength involving the P-OH group of the anion and the water mol-ecules is present.

Project description:The polymeric title compound, [Cd(C8H5O3)2(C4H4N2)(H2O)] n , contains two 4-formyl-benzoate (FB) anions, one pyrazine mol-ecule and one coordinating water mol-ecule; the FB anions act as bidentate ligands. The O atom, the aldehyde H atom and the benzene ring of one of the FB anions are disordered over two positions. The O atoms were freely refined [refined occupancy ratio 0.79 (2):0.21 (2)], while the aldehyde H atoms and the benzene ring atoms were refined with fixed occupancy ratios of 0.8:0.2 and 0.5:0.5, respectively. In the ordered FB anion, the carboxyl-ate group is twisted away from the attached benzene ring (A) by 22.7 (8)°. In the disordered FB anion, the corresponding angles are 15.6 (10) and 11.4 (11)° for rings B and B', respectively. Benzene rings A and B are oriented at a dihedral angle of 24.2 (7), A and B' at 43.0 (8)°. The pyrazine ring makes dihedral angles of 67.5 (4), 89.6 (7) and 86.2 (7)°, respectively, with benzene rings A, B and B'. The pyrazine ligands bridge the Cd(II) cations, forming polymeric chains running along the b-axis direction. In the crystal, O-Hwater ⋯ Ocarboxyl-ate hydrogen bonds link adjacent chains into layers parallel to the bc plane. These layers are linked via C-Hpyrazine ⋯ Oform-yl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. π-π interactions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.870 (11)-3.951 (5) Å] further stabilize the crystal structure. There is also a weak C-H⋯π inter-action present.

Project description:The title compound, [CuEu(2)(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(8)(H(2)O)(4)](n), displays a one-dimensional chain structure. The four-coordinate Cu(II) ion (site symmetry ) adopts a trans-CuN(2)O(2) geometry and is bridged by two carboxyl-ate groups from two isonicotinate ligands. The Eu(III) ion adopts a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry, being coordinated by four O atoms from bridging carboxyl-ate groups of four isonicotinate ligands, two O atoms from chelating carboxyl-ate groups of one isonicotinate ligand and two O atoms from coordinated water mol-ecules; adjacent Eu(III) ions in the chain are related by inversion. The water mol-ecules interact with the ligands via O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds [O⋯O = 2.782 (3)-2.881 (3) Å], which link the chains into a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cd(C(5)H(4)NO)(C(12)H(9)O(2))(H(2)O)](n), each Cd(II) atom is coordinated by two carboxylate O atoms from one 1-naphthyl-acetate ligand, two hydroxyl O atoms from two pyridin-3-olate ligands, one N atom from another pyridin-3-olate ligand and one water mol-ecule, and displays a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The compound forms infinite chains of pyridin-3-olate ligands bridging 1-naphthyl-acetate-Cd(II) units parallel to the b axis, with a Cd⋯Cd separation of 3.578 (2) Å. The chains are further self-assembled into a supra-molecular network through inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Syntheses, crystal structures and thermal properties of catena-poly[cadmium(II)-di-μ-bromido-μ-pyridazine-κ2N1:N2] and catena-poly[cadmium(II)-di-μ-iodido-μ-pyridazine-κ2N1:N2]

Project description:In the crystal structures of the title compounds, the cadmium cations are octahedrally coordinated by four halide anions and two pyridazine ligands in a trans-CdX4N2 (X = Br, I) arrangement and are linked into chains by the halide anions and the pyridazine ligands. The reactions of cadmium bromide and cadmium iodide with pyridazine (C4H4N2) in ethanol under solvothermal conditions led to the formation of crystals of [CdBr2(pyridazine)]n (1) and [CdI2(pyridazine)]n (2), which were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The asymmetric units of both compounds consist of a cadmium cation located on the intersection point of a twofold screw axis and a mirror plane (2/m), a halide anion that is located on a mirror plane and a pyridazine ligand, with all atoms occupying Wyckoff position 4e (mm2). These compounds are isotypic and consist of cadmium cations that are octahedrally coordinated by four halide anions and two pyridazine ligands and are linked into [100] chains by pairs of μ-1,1-bridging halide anions and bridging pyridazine ligands. In the crystals, the pyridazine ligands of neighboring chains are stacked onto each other, indicating π–π interactions. Larger amounts of pure samples can also be obtained by stirring at room-temperature, as proven by powder X-ray diffraction. Measurements using thermogravimetry and differential thermoanalysis (TG-DTA) reveal that upon heating all the pyridiazine ligands are removed in one step, which leads to the formation of CdBr2 or CdI2.

Project description:In the title compound, {[(C(2)H(5))(3)NH][Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(5)]·C(4)H(8)O}(n), the two different Cu(II) atoms are coordinated in a pseudo-square-pyramidal environment by five O atoms from the acetate ligands. Neighbouring pairs of Cu(II) atoms are linked by four basally coordinating bridging acetate ligands as in the crystal structure of copper acetate monohydrate. The fifth, apically coordinating ligand links two of the dicopper tetra-acetate paddlewheel-units together, thus building a linear coordination polymer which extends along [10-1]. Each apical acetate ligand is linked by an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond to a triethyl-ammonium cation. Weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding interactions also occur.

Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions between uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms of fumaric acid and water mol-ecules contribute to the crystal packing stability.
