2-Amino-4-(4-bromo-phen-yl)-6-ferro-cenyl-pyridine-3-carbonitrile.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(17)H(11)BrN(3))], was synthesized by the reaction of 4-bromo-benzaldehyde, acetyl-ferrocene and ammonium acetate in an aqueous medium. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The dihedral angles between the phenyl ring and the pyridine and cyclopentadienyl rings are 51.67 (13) and 12.12 (21)°, respectively.

Project description:The title compound, C(22)H(14)FN(3), was prepared by a one-pot condensation using malononitrile, an aromatic aldehyde, a methyl ketone and ammonium acetate as reacta-nts under microwave irradiation. The pyridine ring is twisted with respect to the benzene ring and the naphthalene ring system, making dihedral angles of 41.9 (1) and 45.2 (1)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via inter-molecular N-H⋯N and C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(22)H(14)FN(3), which differ slightly in the relative orientations of the naphthyl and phenyl groups with respect to the pyridyl ring framework. In one mol-ecule, the naphthyl ring system and the phenyl ring form dihedral of angles 56.50 (2) and 48.23 (3)°, respectively, with the pyridyl ring plane. In the other mol-ecule, the corresponding dihedral angles are 50.01 (2) and 51.1 (3)°, respectively. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds connect the independent mol-ecules into dimers.

The 14 non-H atoms comprising the 4H-chromeno[8,7-b]pyridine residue are essentially coplanar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.037 and 0.042?Å for the two mol-ecules) and the main difference between them is seen in the twist about the bond linking the main residue to the attached chloro-benzene rings [dihedral angles = 79.01?(12) and 76.22?(11)° for the two mol-ecules]. Zigzag supra-molecular chains along the a-axis direction mediated by amino-pyridine N-H?N hydrogen bonds feature in the crystal packing; these are connected into a three-dimensional architecture by C-H?? inter-actions and Cl?Cl contacts [Cl?Cl = 3.3896?(14)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, C21H15BrN2O2, the 14 non-H atoms of the 4H-benzo[h]chromene fused-ring system are approximately coplanar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.129?Å). Within this system, the 4H-pyran ring adopts a flattened half-chair conformation with the methine C atom lying 0.281?(4)?Å above the plane of the remaining atoms (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0446?Å). The bromo-benzene ring is almost perpendicular to the fused-ring system [dihedral angle = 85.34?(13)°]. In the crystal, supra-molecular layers parallel to (101) are sustained by amine-cyano N-H?N and amine-meth-oxy N-H?O hydrogen bonds. The layers stack with inter-actions of the type (bromo-benzene)C-H??(outer-C6 ring of the fused-ring system) connecting them.
