2-Amino-4-(4-fluoro-phen-yl)-6-(naphthalen-1-yl)pyridine-3-carbonitrile.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(22)H(14)FN(3), was prepared by a one-pot condensation using malononitrile, an aromatic aldehyde, a methyl ketone and ammonium acetate as reacta-nts under microwave irradiation. The pyridine ring is twisted with respect to the benzene ring and the naphthalene ring system, making dihedral angles of 41.9?(1) and 45.2?(1)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via inter-molecular N-H?N and C-H?F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(22)H(14)FN(3), which differ slightly in the relative orientations of the naphthyl and phenyl groups with respect to the pyridyl ring framework. In one mol-ecule, the naphthyl ring system and the phenyl ring form dihedral of angles 56.50?(2) and 48.23?(3)°, respectively, with the pyridyl ring plane. In the other mol-ecule, the corresponding dihedral angles are 50.01?(2) and 51.1?(3)°, respectively. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds connect the independent mol-ecules into dimers.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C26H18N6O4S, contains two independent mol-ecules (A and B). The dihedral angles between the oxadiazole ring and naphthalene ring system are 42.59 (14) and 6.88 (14) Å in mol-ecules A and B, respectively. The dihedral angles between the pyridine and benzene rings in A and B are 65.53 (13 )and 87.67 (13) Å, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules A and B are linked through a pair of N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving one -NH2 group H atom and second pair of N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the other -NH2 group H atom, forming an -ABAB- ribbon along [100] containing R 2 (2)(8) and R 2 (2)(12) ring motifs. These ribbons are further connected by weak C-H⋯N, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions, resulting in a three-dimensional network. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with refined components 0.906 (1):0.094 (1).

The 14 non-H atoms comprising the 4H-chromeno[8,7-b]pyridine residue are essentially coplanar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.037 and 0.042?Å for the two mol-ecules) and the main difference between them is seen in the twist about the bond linking the main residue to the attached chloro-benzene rings [dihedral angles = 79.01?(12) and 76.22?(11)° for the two mol-ecules].
