ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(22)H(14)ClN(3), prepared by a one-pot reaction under microwave irradiation, the dihedral angles between the central pyridine ring and the pendant naphthyl and chloro-benzene ring systems are 49.2?(2) and 58.2?(3)°, respectively. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H?N hydrogen bonds generate R(2) (2)(8) loops. The pyridine N atom is the acceptor.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C19H12ClN3O, contains two mol-ecules with similar conformations. The 14 non-H atoms comprising the 4H-chromeno[8,7-b]pyridine residue are essentially coplanar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.037 and 0.042?Å for the two mol-ecules) and the main difference between them is seen in the twist about the bond linking the main residue to the attached chloro-benzene rings [dihedral angles = 79.01?(12) and 76.22?(11)° for the two mol-ecules]. Zigzag supra-molecular chains along the a-axis direction mediated by amino-pyridine N-H?N hydrogen bonds feature in the crystal packing; these are connected into a three-dimensional architecture by C-H?? inter-actions and Cl?Cl contacts [Cl?Cl = 3.3896?(14)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, C(22)H(14)FN(3), was prepared by a one-pot condensation using malononitrile, an aromatic aldehyde, a methyl ketone and ammonium acetate as reacta-nts under microwave irradiation. The pyridine ring is twisted with respect to the benzene ring and the naphthalene ring system, making dihedral angles of 41.9?(1) and 45.2?(1)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via inter-molecular N-H?N and C-H?F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(22)H(14)FN(3), which differ slightly in the relative orientations of the naphthyl and phenyl groups with respect to the pyridyl ring framework. In one mol-ecule, the naphthyl ring system and the phenyl ring form dihedral of angles 56.50?(2) and 48.23?(3)°, respectively, with the pyridyl ring plane. In the other mol-ecule, the corresponding dihedral angles are 50.01?(2) and 51.1?(3)°, respectively. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds connect the independent mol-ecules into dimers.

Project description:The title compound, C(23)H(19)N, was obtained unexpectedly from the reaction of [Eu(nta)(3)(PzPy)] {Hnta = 1-(2-naphtho-yl)-3,3,3-trifluoro-acetone and PzPy = 2-[3(5)-pyrazol-yl]pyridine} with 1-naphthyl-methyl-amine. The 1- and 2-naphthyl groups are essentially planar [r.m.s. deviations of 0.007 and 0.011?Å, respectively] and subtend angles of 38.69?(11) and 16.50?(11)°, respectively, with the central CH(3)-C=N-CH(2) unit, which is also almost planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.002?Å]. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are disposed in zigzag-type fashion, forming layers perpendicular to [100]. Weak supra-molecular C-H?? inter-actions contribute to the packing forces.

The fused-ring system is buckled owing to the ethyl-ene linkage in the central ring. There are two independent overlapped mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. In one independent mol-ecule, the two flanking aromatic rings are twisted by 24.4?(1)° and the ring of the chloro-phenyl substituent is twisted by 87.3?(1)° relative to the amino- and cyano-bearing aromatic ring. In the second mol-ecule, the respective dihedral angles are 26.1?(1) and 57.8?(1)°. The two independent mol-ecules are linked by N-H?N hydrogen bonds into dimers.

The pyran ring is essentialy planar [maximum deviation = 0.038 (2) Å] and forms a dihedral angle of 89.68 (10)° with the benzene ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by pairs of N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with R(2) (2)(12) ring motifs. These dimers are further linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into chains along [110]. Weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are also present.
