Project description:The copper(II) atom in the title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(10)NS(2))I(C(12)H(8)N(2))], is chelated by the N-heterocycle and the dithio-carbamate anion in a slightly distorted tetragonal coordination. The tetragonal-pyramidal coorination is completed by the iodine atom in the apical position. One ethyl group is disordered over two positions with site occupancies of 0.31 (2) and 0.69 (2).

Project description:The solvothermal reaction of copper(I) iodide and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) in ethanol yielded the title polymeric compound, [CuI(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n). The asymmmetric unit comprises one Cu(+) cation, one I(-) anion and one phen ligand. Each Cu(+) cation is in a distorted tetrahedral coordination by two iodide anions and two N atoms from a bidentate chelating phen ligand. The Cu(+) cations are bridged through the iodide anions, leading to a zigzag chain structure extending parallel to [100]. There are π-π inter-actions among adjacent phen ligands of one chain [centroid-centroid distance = 3.693 (3) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [CuBr(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)][N(CN)(2)], is formed of discrete [CuBr(phen)(2)](+) complex cations and uncoordinated [N(CN)(2)](-) anions (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline). The Cu atom is five-coordinated in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry by two phen mol-ecules and one bromide ligand, which coordinates in the equatorial plane at a distance of 2.5228 (4) Å and lying along with the Cu and the amide N atoms on a twofold rotation axis. The two axial Cu-N distances [1.9926 (15) Å] are slightly shorter than the two equatorial Cu-N bonds [2.0979 (15) Å]. The structure is stabilized by a weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bond, with a cyanide N atom of the dicyanamide ligand as an acceptor, and π-π inter-actions between nearly parallel phenyl and pyridine rings of two adjacent phen mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.589 (1) Å], and between π electrons of the dicyanamide anion and the pyridine ring [N⋯Cg(pyridine) = 3.511 (3) Å; C-N⋯Cg(pyridine) = 80.2 (2)°].

Project description:The title complex salt, [CuCl(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)][Tb(NO(3))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))], consists of discrete [CuCl(phen))(2)](+) cations and [Tb(NO(3))(4)(phen)](-) anions (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline). The [CuCl(phen))(2)](+) cation contains a five-coordinate Cu(2+) ion, ligated by two bidentate phen ligands and one Cl(-) ion, exhibiting a distorted CuN(4)Cl trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the [Tb(NO(3))(4)(phen)](-) anion, the Tb(3+) ion is coordinated by one chelating phen ligand and four chelating nitrates, forming a distorted TbN(2)O(8) bicapped dodeca-hedral configuration. The anions and cations are assembled into a three-dimensional network by weak C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. There is also a significant π-π stacking inter-action, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.635 (2) Å.

The equatorial plane is occupied by three N atoms from two 4,7-Cl-phen ligands and one N atom from a dca ligand at shorter Cu-N distances. Due to the Jahn-Teller effect, the axial positions are occupied by a 4,7-Cl-phen N atom and a dca N atom at longer Cu-N distances. The dca ligands are nearly planar, with a maximum deviations of 0.006 (1) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, with cyanide N atoms as acceptors, and π-π inter-actions between adjacent phenyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.725 (3) Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(10)NO(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]NO(3)·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom displays a distorted square-pyramidal coordination (τ = 0.03) where the water mol-ecule occupies the apical position and the base is defined by the N atom, one of the O atoms from the valinate ligand, and both phenanthroline N atoms. The phenanthroline chelate ring plane is slightly distorted from planarity (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0057 Å), whereas the five-membered ring formed by the valinate ligand presents an envelope conformation with the N atom being the flap atom. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, creating a three-dimensional network superstructure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C(4)H(8)NO(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]Cl·2H(2)O, contains a complex cation, a chloride anion and two water mol-ecules. The Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry formed by one bidentate phenanthroline ligand, one O,N-bidentate dl-threoninate ligand and one apical water mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O, N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the components into layers. A single weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action connects these layers into a three-dimensional network.
