Project description:The title compound, [SnBr(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·3H(2)O, forms large colourless crystals in originally sealed samples of tin tetra-bromide. It constitutes the first structurally characterized hydrate of SnBr(4) and is isostructural with the corresponding -hydrate of SnCl(4). It is composed of Sn(IV) atoms octa-hedrally coordinated by four Br atoms and two cis-related water mol-ecules. The octa-hedra exhibit site symmetry 2. They are arranged into columns along [001] via medium-strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the two lattice water mol-ecules (one situated on a twofold rotation axis) while the chains are inter-connected via longer O-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [SnCl(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2)Se)], was obtained by the reaction of 2,2'-dipyridyl diselenide with tin tetra-chloride. The Sn(IV) ion is coordinated by two N atoms [Sn-N = 2.266?(2) and 2.274?(2)?Å] from the bis-(2-pyrid-yl)selenide ligand and four chloride anions [Sn-Cl = 2.3717?(6)-2.3939?(6)?Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The central six-membered chelate ring has a boat conformation with the Se and Sn atoms deviating by 0.692?(3) and 0.855?(3)?Å, respectively, from the mean plane through the remaining four ring atoms. The pyridine rings are inclined to each other by a dihedral angle of 49.62?(8)°. The crystal packing exhibits short inter-molecular Se?Cl contacts [3.5417?(7) and 3.5648?(7)?Å], weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.683?(3)?Å.

Project description:Compared to the previous studies [Ng (1997 ?). Acta Cryst. C53, 56-58; Yin et al. (2005 ?). Huaxue Shiji, 27, 295-296], the redetermined structure of the title compound, [Sn(C(7)H(7))(3)Cl], exhibits a doubled c unit-cell parameter. There are two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, with both Sn and both Cl atoms having 3 site symmetry. Project description:The Sn atom in the title compound, [Sn(C(7)H(7))(2)(C(5)H(5)N(2)O)Cl], shows a distorted C(2)ClNOSn trigonal-bipyramidal coordin-ation, with a Cl-Sn-O axial angle of 163.77?(3)°, but the C-Sn-C angle [141.43?(7)°] deviates from 120°. The chelating ligand exists in a zwitterionic form. Adjacent molecules are linked by an N-H(pyridinium)?O hydrogen bond, forming a chain running along the c axis of the orthorhombic unit cell.

Project description:The Sn(IV) atom in the title diorganotin dithio-carbamate, [Sn(C(4)H(9))(2)Cl(C(10)H(12)NS(2))], is penta-coordinated by an asymmetrically coordinating dithio-carbamate ligand, a Cl and two C atoms of the Sn-bound tert-butyl groups. The resulting C(2)ClS(2) donor set defines a coordination geometry inter-mediate between square pyramidal and trigonal bipyramidal with a slight tendency towards the former. In the crystal structure, C-H⋯π contacts link centrosymmetrically related mol-ecules into dimeric aggregates.

Project description:The title compound (NH(4))(4)[Mo(8)O(24)(O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, consists of an octa-molybdate cluster with a crystallographic centre of symmetry. The clusters pack in a cubic close packing arrangement defining channels containing water mol-ecules and ammonium cations, which exhibit hydrogen bonding with neighbouring clusters. Hydrogen bonding also exists between the coordinated water mol-ecules of one cluster with one of the O atoms of the peroxido fragment in a neighbouring cluster.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Rb(4)(C(9)H(6)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)(6)](n), the asymmetric unit comprises four rubidium cations, two of which have an RbO(7) coordination polyhedron with a monocapped distorted octa-hedral stereochemistry and two of which have a distorted RbO(6) octa-hedral coordination. The bonding about both the seven-coordinate cations is similar, comprising one monodentate water mol-ecule together with three bridging water mol-ecules and three carboxyl-ate O-atom donors, two of which are bridging. The environments around the six-coordinate cations are also similar, comprising a monodentate nitro O-atom donor, a bridging water mol-ecule and four bridging carboxyl-ate O-atom donors [overall Rb-O range = 2.849?(2)-3.190?(2)?Å]. The coordination leads to a two-dimensional polymeric structure extending parallel to (001), which is stabilized by inter-layer water O-H?O hydrogen-bonding associations to water, carboxyl and nitro O-atom acceptors, together with weak inter-ring ?-? inter-actions [minimum ring centroid-centroid separation = 3.5319?(19)?Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex salt, [Ni(C(10)H(24)N(4))(H(2)O)(2)](C(4)H(2)O(4))·4H(2)O, comprises half of a nickel(II) complex dication, half of a fumarate dianion and two water mol-ecules. Both the Ni(II) cation and fumarate anion lie on a crystallographic inversion center. The Ni(II) ion in the cyclam complex is six-coordinated within a distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry, with the four cyclam N atoms in the equatorial plane and the two water mol-ecules in apical positions. The six-membered metalla ring adopts a chair conformation, whereas the five-membered ring exists in a twisted form. In the crystal packing, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water molecules and the carboxyl groups of the fumarate anions lead to the formation of layers with R(4) (2)(8) ring motifs. Ni(II) complex cations are sandwiched between two such layers, being held in place by O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, consolidating a three-dimensional network.
