[Bis(pyridin-2-yl) selenide-?(2)N,N']tetra-chloridotin(IV).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [SnCl(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2)Se)], was obtained by the reaction of 2,2'-dipyridyl diselenide with tin tetra-chloride. The Sn(IV) ion is coordinated by two N atoms [Sn-N = 2.266?(2) and 2.274?(2)?Å] from the bis-(2-pyrid-yl)selenide ligand and four chloride anions [Sn-Cl = 2.3717?(6)-2.3939?(6)?Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The central six-membered chelate ring has a boat conformation with the Se and Sn atoms deviating by 0.692?(3) and 0.855?(3)?Å, respectively, from the mean plane through the remaining four ring atoms. The pyridine rings are inclined to each other by a dihedral angle of 49.62?(8)°. The crystal packing exhibits short inter-molecular Se?Cl contacts [3.5417?(7) and 3.5648?(7)?Å], weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.683?(3)?Å.

In the tetra-nuclear centrosymmetric complex mol-ecule, the metal atoms exhibit two kinds of coordination modes. The middle two Li(+) cations are coord-inated by four N (ligand) and one O (tetra-hydro-furan, THF) atoms, resulting in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The outer two Li(+) cations are in distorted tetra-hedral environments consisting of three N (ligand) and one O (THF) atoms. The Li-N bond lengths vary from 2.020 (7) to 2.441 (6)Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C18H16N6Se·0.5CH3OH, contains two independent mol-ecules of bis-[3-methyl-5-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl] selenide with similar C-Se-C bond angles [99.30 (14) and 98.26 (13)°], and a methanol molecule of solvation. In one mol-ecule, the dihedral angles between pyrazole and neighbouring pyridine rings are 18.3 (2) and 15.8 (2)°, and the corresponding angles in the other mol-ecule are 13.5 (2) and 8.3 (2)°. In the crystal, the selenide and solvent mol-ecules are linked by classical O-H⋯N and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, as well as by weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title hydrated complex salt, (C18H14N5)2[Pt(CN)4]·4H2O, consists of one 2-[2,5-bis-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-imidazol-4-yl]pyridinium cation, half a tetra-cyanidoplatinate(II) dianion, which is located about a crystallographic inversion center, and two water mol-ecules of crystallization. The Pt(II) atom has a square-planar coordination environment, with Pt-CCN distances of 1.992 (4) and 2.000 (4) Å. In the cation, there is an N-H⋯N hydrogen bond linking adjacent pyridinium and pyridine rings in positions 4 and 5. Despite this, the organic component is non-planar, as shown by the dihedral angles of 10.3 (2), 6.60 (19) and 15.66 (18)° between the planes of the central imidazole ring and the pyridine/pyridinium substituents in the 2-, 4- and 5-positions. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked via O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. Additional π-π, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N contacts provide stabilization to the crystal lattice.

Project description:In the title compound, [Sn2(CH3)6(NCS)2(C24H22N4)], the 1,2,3,4-tetra-kis-(pyridin-4-yl)butane ligand uses the pyridine N atoms at the ends of the butyl chain to coordinate to two trimethylthiocyanatotin(IV) units, forming a dinuclear structure. The Sn(IV) atom in the mol-ecule shows a distorted trans-trigonal-bipyramidal coordination with the methyl groups in equatorial positions. The mol-ecule lies on a center of inversion, with the mid-point of the butyl chain coinciding with this symmetry element. Project description:In the title mononuclear complex, [Ag(C(9)H(7)N(3)S)(2)]BF(4), the Ag(I) ion adopts a virtually linear coordination geometry [N-Ag-N = 178.06?(11)°] with the two ligands bound to the metal atom via the pyridine N atoms. The metal-coordinated pyridine rings are almost coplanar, making a dihedral angle of 1.5?(2)°, while the two pendent pyrazine rings are arranged on the same side of the N-Ag-N line. Along the a axis, the mononuclear coordination units are stacked with ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.569?(4)?Å], leading to infinite chains. The chains are inter-connected through inter-molecular N(pyrazine)??(pyrazine) inter-actions forming layers parallel to the ab plane [N?centroid = 3.268?(5)?Å]. These layers are further stacked along the c-axis direction, furnishing a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework with the tetra-fluoridoborate anions embedded within the inter-stices.
