Tetra-ammonium diaqua-diperoxidoocta-molybdate(VI) tetra-hydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound (NH(4))(4)[Mo(8)O(24)(O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, consists of an octa-molybdate cluster with a crystallographic centre of symmetry. The clusters pack in a cubic close packing arrangement defining channels containing water mol-ecules and ammonium cations, which exhibit hydrogen bonding with neighbouring clusters. Hydrogen bonding also exists between the coordinated water mol-ecules of one cluster with one of the O atoms of the peroxido fragment in a neighbouring cluster.

Project description:The title compound, (C(3)H(10)N)(2)[MoS(4)], was synthesized by passing a rapid stream of H(2)S into an aqueous isopropyl-amine solution of molybdic acid. The title compound is isotypic with the corresponding W analogue (C(3)H(10)N)(2)[WS(4)]; its structure consists of a slightly distorted tetra-hedral [MoS(4)](2-) dianion and two crystallographically independent isopropyl-ammonium cations, with all atoms located in general positions. The cations and anion are linked by weak N-H⋯S and C-H⋯S inter-actions, the strength and number of which can explain the observed Mo-S bond distances.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, Na(6)(Mo(7)O(24))·14H(2)O, has been redetermined [Sjöbom & Hedman (1973). Acta Chem. Scand.27, 3673-3674] and the hydrogen atoms have been located. The Na(+) cations adopt distorted octa-hedral geometries and the structure of the [Mo(7)O(24)](6-) anion is consistent with those of other hepta-molbydates. In the crystal, numerous O-H?O hydrogen bonds help to establish the packing.

Project description:A trimethyl-phenyl-ammonium salt of a dinuclear ?-oxalate complex of diperoxidomonomolybdate units, (C9H14N)2[Mo2(C2O4)(O2)4O2], was obtained from an acidic aqueous solution; the dianion is located about a centre of inversion. Each Mo atom bears two peroxide groups together with one O atom from the oxalate group in its equatorial positions and one terminal O atom as well as another O atom from the oxalate in axial positions. The oxalate group acts as a tetra-dentate bridging ligand and bridges between the diperoxidomolybdate units.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(8)H(20)N(+)·C(4)H(5)O(5) (-)·1.36H(2)O, contains two independent ion pairs, with similar conformations, and three water mol-ecules of crystallization, one water mol-ecule haing a site-occupancy factor of 0.721 (5). Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, involving the hydr-oxy groups and an O atom of each carboxyl-ate anion, generate five-membered rings involving S(5) ring motifs. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked together by water mol-ecules through four-membered O-H⋯O-H⋯O-H inter-actions to form one-dimensional infinite chains along the a axis. Since the mol-ecules are also linked into one-dimensional infinite chains along the b axis, mol-ecular sheets parallel to the (001) plane are created. Overall, the crystal structure is stabilized by two intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, nine inter-molecular O-H⋯O and ten C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex, [(C(4)H(9))(4)N](2)[Mo(6)(C(7)H(6)ClN)O(18)], was prepared by the reaction of (Bu(4)N)(4)[?-Mo(8)O(26)] and 2-methyl-5-chloro-aniline hydro-chloride with N,N'-dicyclo-hexyl-carbodiimide as dehydrating agent in dry acetonitrile solution. The aryl-imido ligand is linked to an Mo atom of the Lindqvist-type hexamolybdate anion by an Mo N triple bond, with a bond length of 1.732?(4)?Å and an Mo N-C bond angle of 169.1?(4)°, typical for monodentate imido groups in such hybrid complexes. Due to the inter-action between one H atom in the aryl group and an O atom of a symmetry-related hexa-molybdate cluster, the anions form centrosymmetric dimers in the crystal structure. Weak C-H?O contacts are observed between the cations and anions. Unresolved disorder in some of the butyl chains of the ammonium cation is noted.
