ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(12)H(8)N(3)O(2))(2)(C(6)H(8)O(4))(H(2)O)(2)]·3H(2)O, both crystallographically independent Cu atoms are in similar distorted square-pyramidal coordination environments. The dinuclear complex mol-ecules are assembled into one-dimensional supra-molecular chains extending in the [100] direction by hydrogen bonds. Inter-chain hydrogen bonds further link these chains into layers perpendicular to [001].

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(C(5)H(6)O(4))(2)(C(12)H(18)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) atom displays a dis-torted square-pyramidal coordination environment with the basal plane occupied by two phenanthroline N atoms and two O atoms from different glutarate dianions while a water mol-ecule is located at the apical position. Of the two water H atoms, one is engaged in an intra-molecular hydrogen bond with a free oxygen of the dianion whereas the second is engaged in an inter-molecular hydrogen bond, building a corrugated layer parallel to (100). These layers are further connected through π-π stacking inter-actions involving symmetry-related phenanthroline rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.5599 (17) and 3.5617 (18) Å], building a three dimensionnal network. C-H⋯π inter-actions involving the phenanthroline ring system are also observed.

Project description:In the title binuclear complex, [Cu2(NO3)3(C18H16N6Se)(H2O)3]NO3·H2O, the Cu(II) ions are penta-coordinated in a tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry. In both cases, the equatorial planes are formed by a chelating pyrazole-pyridine group, a water mol-ecule and a nitrate O atom, whereas the apical positions are occupied by a water mol-ecule for one Cu(II) ion and a nitrate O atom for the other. The organic selenide ligand adopts a trans configuration with respect to the C-Se-C plane. Numerous inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinating and lattice water mol-ecules, nitrate anions and pyrazole groups are observed. π-π stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings [averaged centroid-centroid distance = 3.652 (5) Å] are also present. The lattice water molecule is equally disordered over two sets of sites.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu2(C5H6O4)2(C11H10N4O)]n, contains square-pyramidally coordinated CuII ions linked by anti-gauche conformation glutarate (glu) ligands into [Cu2(glu)2]n di-periodic coordination polymer layers with embedded [Cu2(OCO)4] paddlewheel clusters. In turn, the layer motifs are connected by 1,3-di(pyridin-3-yl)urea (3-dpu) linkers to form a [Cu2(glu)2(3-dpu)]n tri-periodic coordination polymer network. Treating the [Cu2(OCO)4] clusters as 6-connected nodes reveals an underlying 41263 pcu topology according to TOPOSPRO software [Blatov et al. (2014 ▸). Cryst. Growth Des. 14, 3576-3586].

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(10)H(8)N(3)O(2))(2)]·4H(2)O, the Cu(II) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination formed by four O [Cu-O = 2.051?(3)-2.083?(4)?Å] and two N [Cu-N = 1.985?(4) and 1.996?(4)?Å] atoms from two tridentate bis-(1-oxo-2-pyrid-yl)aminate ligands. In the two ligands, the pyridyl rings form dihedral angles of 21.0?(1) and 15.5?(1)°. The crystal packing exhibits an extensive network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions proved by short distances of 3.650?(1) and 3.732?(2)?Å between the centroids of pyridyl rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.

Project description:In the binuclear title complex, [Cu2(ClO4)1.5(NO3)1.5(C18H16N6Se)(H2O)5]NO3·H2O, both Cu(II) ions are hexa-coordinated by O and N atoms, thus forming axially elongated CuO4N2 octa-hedra. The equatorial plane of each octa-hedron is formed by one chelating pyrazole-pyridine fragment of the organic ligand and two water mol-ecules. The axial positions in one octa-hedron are occupied by a water mol-ecule and a monodentately coordinated perchlorate anion, while those in the other are occupied by a nitrate anion and a disordered perchlorate/nitrate anion with equal site occupancy. The pyrazole-pyridine units of the organic selenide are trans-oriented to each other with a C-Se-C angle of 96.01 (14)°. In the crystal, uncoordinated nitrate anions and the coordinating water mol-ecules are involved in O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a bridge between the pyrazole group and the coordinating water mol-ecules. Further O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the complex mol-ecules and a π-π stacking inter-action with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.834 (4) Å are also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C10H8N4)3(H2O)2](ClO4)2} n , the coordination environment of the cationic Cu(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by pairs of symmetry-equivalent 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands, bridging 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands and two non-equivalent water mol-ecules. The 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene mol-ecules form polymeric chains parallel to [-101] via azo bonds which are situated about inversion centres. Since the Cu(II) atom is situated on a twofold rotation axis, the monomeric unit has point symmetry 2. The perchlorate anions are disordered in a 0.536 (9):0.464 (9) ratio and are acceptors of water H atoms in medium-strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with graph set R 4 (4)(12). The water mol-ecules, which are coordinated to the Cu(II) atom and are hydrogen-bonded to the perchlorate anions, form columns parallel to [010]. A π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.913 (2) Å] occurs between pyridine rings, and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions also occur.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(16)H(20)N(4))(H(2)O)](n), square-pyramidally coordinated Cu(II) ions are linked into [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)](n) coordination polymer chains by isophthalate dianions. These chains are connected into undulating [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)(3-bpmp)](n) [3-bmp is bis-(3-pyridylmeth-yl)piperazine] layers by 3-bpmp tethering ligands. The pseudo three-dimensional structure of the title compound is fostered by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and unligated isophthalate O atoms. The selected crystal was non-merohedrally twinned. Only reflections from the major twin component were used in the solution and refinement.
