Bis(μ-N,N'-di-4-pyridylpyridine-2,6-diamine)bis[dimethacrylatocobalt(II)] dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The Co(II) ion in the title complex, [Co(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(4)(C(15)H(13)N(5))(2)]·2H(2)O, has a distorted square-planar coordination formed by the bridging bidentate N,N'-di-4-pyridylpyrid-ine-2,6-diamine (dapmp) ligands and two monodentate carboxyl-ate groups from methacrylates. Two dapmp ligands bridge two Co atoms, forming a dinuclear complex arranged around an inversion centre. N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the solvent water mol-ecule result in the formation of a three-dimensional network. The aliphatic moiety of one of the methacrylate groups is disordered over two positions with fixed occupancies of 0.67 and 0.33.

Project description:The Ni(II) ion in the one-dimensional title complex, {[Ni(2)(C(4)H(2)O(4))(OH)(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment formed by three O atoms from two bridging hydroxide groups and one carboxyl-ate group of the fumarate ligand and two pyridine N atoms from a di-2-pyridylamine (dpa) ligand. Two hydroxide groups link adjacent metal centers, forming a centrosymmetric four-membered [Ni(2)(OH)(2)] ring. In the crystal structure, the H atoms of the bridging hydroxide groups form inter-molecular hydrogen bonds to both water mol-ecules. These are further linked to the uncoordinated O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups and the NH group of a dpa ligand to generate a three-dimensional network from the chains of the coordination polymer.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(2)Cr(2)O(8)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)]·2H(2)O, which was obtained by hydro-thermal reaction of CdCO(3) and phenanthroline with K(2)CrO(4) at 393 K, two distorted Cd(N(4)O(2)) octa-hedra are linked through μ(2)-bridging chromate anions, forming a centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear eight-membered ring complex. The water mol-ecules link the chromate O atoms via inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These aggregates pack to a three-dimensional network through weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π hydrogen-bonding contacts.

Project description:The title salt, (C(19)H(18)NO(2))(2)[Cu(2)Br(6)], was obtained from an attempt to synthesize the copper(II) complex of 2,6-bis-(2-meth-oxy-phen-yl)pyridine (L) from a reaction between CuBr(2) and one equivalent of L in CH(2)Cl(2) at room temperature. The resulting compound is the salt of the 2,6-bis-(2-meth-oxy-phen-yl)pyridinium cation and 0.5 equivalents of a hexa-bromido-dicuprate(II) dianion. Both meth-oxy groups of the cationic pyridinium moiety are directed towards the N atom of the pyridine ring as a result of intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The centrosymmetric hexabromidodicuprate dianion possesses a distorted tetra-hedral geometry at the copper ion. The Cu-Br bond lengths are 2.3385 (7) and 2.3304 (7) Å for the terminal bromides, whereas the bond length between the Cu atom and two bridging bromides is slightly longer [2.4451 (6) Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(2)Cl(2)(C(20)H(18)N(4))(H(2)O)(4)]Cl(2)·2C(2)H(6)O, the coordination environment of each Ni(2+) ion is distorted octa-hedral formed by two N atoms from the Schiff base ligand, two O atoms from water mol-ecules and two chloride anions acting as μ(2) bridges between the metal ions. The coordinated water mol-ecules are linked to the uncoordinated ethanol mol-ecules and chloride anions by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, although the assignment of some of these is tentative. A weak inter-molecular O-H⋯N inter-action within the ligand is also observed.

Project description:In the crystal of the title polymeric complex, {[CoCa(C7H3NO4)2(H2O)4]·2H2O} n (1), the CoII ion is N,O,O'-chelated by two pyridine-2,6-di-carboxyl-ate anions in a distorted N2O4 octa-hedral geometry, and two carboxyl-ate O atoms of pyridine-2,6-di-carboxyl-ate anions bridge tetra-aqua-calcium(II) units to form polymeric chains propagating along the b-axis direction. In the crystal, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and offset π-π stacking inter-actions [inter-centroid distances = 3.551 (1) and 3.746 (1) Å] involving inversion-related pyridine rings link the polymeric chains and lattice water mol-ecules to form a supra-molecular three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(C2H6N5)2(H2O)4][Co(C7H3NO4)2]2·2H2O, features 1.5 Co(II) ions (one anionic complex and one half cationic complex) and one water mol-ecule. In the cationic complex, the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion centre and is coordinated by two triazolium cations and four water mol-ecules, adopting an octa-hedral geometry where the N atoms of the two triazolium cations occupy the axial positions and the O atoms of the four water mol-ecules the equatorial positions. The two triazole ligands are parallel offset (with a distance of 1.38 Å between their planes). In the anionic complex, the Co(II) ion is six-coordinated by two N and four O atoms of the two pyridine-2,6-di-carboxyl-ate anions, exhibiting a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry in which the mean plane of the two pyridine-2,6-di-carboxyl-ate anions are almost perpendicular to each other, making a dihedral angle of 85.87 (2)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network via C-H⋯O, C-H⋯N, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Each Ni(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal environment, with the basal plane formed by three O [Ni-O = 1.9290 (16)-1.9588 (10) Å] and one N [Ni-N = 1.9828 (18) Å] atoms and the apical position occupied by the water mol-ecule [Ni-O = 2.2643 (11) Å]. The water mol-ecules are involved in the formation of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:There are two independent La(III) cations in the polymeric title compound, {[La(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n). One is nine-coordinated in an LaN(2)O(7) tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry formed by three pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two water mol-ecules, while the other is ten-coordinated in an LaNO(9) bicapped square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by four pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two water mol-ecules. The two La(III) cations are separated by a non-bonding distance of 5.026 (3) Å. The pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions bridge the La(III) cations, forming a three-dimensional polymeric complex. The crystal structure contains extensive classical O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is further consolidated by π-π stacking between pyridine rings, the shortest centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings being 3.700 (5) Å.

In the crystal structure, the Mo polyhedron has a square-anti-prismatic shape, while the geometry around the Ni atom is distorted octa-hedral. The complex ions and water mol-ecules are linked by hydrogen bonds.
