ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (C(16)H(36)N)(2)[Pd(C(4)N(2)S(2))(2)], the Pd(II) center adopts a distorted square-planar geometry due to the four-membered chelate rings formed by coordination of the 2,2-dicyano-ethyl-ene-1,1-dithiol-ate (i-mnt) ligands [bite angle 75.0159 (17)°]. The bond distances in the coordinated i-mnt ligands indicate some delocalization of the π-system.

Project description:The reaction of MgCl(2), NiCl(2), and Na(2)(i-mnt) (i-mnt is 1,1-dicyano-thene-2,2-dithiol-ate) with 15-crown-5 (15-C-5) leads to an infinite chain polymer, {[NiMg(2)(C(4)N(2)S(2))(2)(C(10)H(20)O(5))(2)]Cl(2)}(n) or {[Mg(15-C-5)](2)[Ni(i-mnt)(2)]Cl(2)}(n), which consists of two [Mg(15-C-5)](2+) complex cations, one [Ni(i-mnt)(2)](2-) complex anion and two Cl(-) ions per formula unit. In the [Ni(i-mnt)(2)](2-) complex anion, Ni(2+) is located on a crystallographic mirror plane with a slightly distorted square-planar coordination by four S atoms. In the [Mg(15-C-5)](2+) complex cations, the Mg and one O atom of the crown lie on mirror planes and the Mg atoms are in sevenfold coordination environments of five O atoms from the crown and two N atoms from two i-mnt anions. The bridging of the two complexes via the Mg-N bonds leads to the formation of one-dimensional chains along the a axis.

Project description:The reaction of NiCl(2)·6H(2)O with sodium 2,2-dicyano-ethene-1,1-dithiol-ate [Na(2)(i-mnt)] in dimethyl sulfoxide produces the title complex, [Ni(C(2)H(6)OS)(6)][Ni(C(4)N(2)S(2))(2)]. There is half each of an [Ni(C(2)H(6)OS)(6)](2-) complex anion and an [Ni{(CH(3))(2)SO}(6)](2+) complex cation in the asymmetric unit. The i-mnt ligand coordinates in a bidentate manner to the Ni atom in the anion through the two chelating S atoms in an approximate square-planar geometry. The Ni atom in the complex cation has an octahedral coordination environment with six dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules as ligands.

Project description:The title compound, (C(16)H(36)N)(2)[Cd(C(5)O(3)S(2))(2)]·0.25H(2)O, contains two disordered tetra-butyl-ammonium cations, a complex [Cd(C(5)O(3)S(2))(2)](2-) anion and a 0.25-hydrate water. The anion is composed of a bidentate coordinated 3,4,5-trioxocyclo-pent-1-ene-1,2-dithiol-ate (dtcroc) group forming a distorted tetra-hedral configuration around the Cd(II) ion. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the ten-atom sulfur-substituted croconate groups in the anion is 84.10?(8)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak C-H?O and C-H?S cation-anion hydrogen-bond inter-actions. In each of the two cations one butyl group is disordered over two positions in the ratios 0.589?(11):0.411?(11) and 0.796?(12):0.204?(12).

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(2)(C(4)H(9))(2)(C(12)H(20))(2)], has two 1-stannacyclo-penta-diene skeletons related by inversion symmetry located at the mid-point of the Sn-Sn bond [2.7682 (2) Å]. Thus, the asymmetric unit comprises one half-mol-ecule. The planarity of the stannacyclo-penta-diene ring is illustrated by the dihedral angle of 0.3 (1)°, defined by the C(4) and C-Sn-C planes. To avoid steric repulsion, the two stannole rings are oriented in an anti fashion through the Sn-Sn bond. These structural features are similar to those of other bis-tannoles.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(S2C2(C6H4-p-Cl)2)2] or [Ni(C14H8Cl2S2)2], crystallizes in the triclinic space group P as pairs of mol-ecules disposed about an inversion center at the bc face of the cell. Close inter-molecular C-H⋯S (2.884 Å) and C-H⋯Ni (3.032 Å) contacts that are less than the sum of the van der Waals radii appear to induce slight bowing of the mol-ecular planes toward one another. The angles at which the four p-ClC6H4- rings join the NiS2C2 chelate rings [39.37 (9)- 53.41 (6)°] are similarly influenced by these inter-molecular contacts. In the larger packing arrangement, sheets of mol-ecules extend in the direction of the ac face diagonal.

Project description:The title compound, (C(8)H(20)N)(2)[Cu(2)Mo(2)(C(2)H(4)S(2))(2)(CN)(2)S(4)], is a sulfide-bridged tetranuclear complex in which the complex anion comprises one [(edt)(2)Mo(2)S(2)(?-S)(2)](2-) unit (edt = ethanedithiol-ate) and two CuCN units joined through six Cu-?(3)-S bonds, thus forming a cubane-like [Mo(2)S(4)Cu(2)] core. There are two independent cation-anion complex entities in the asymmetric unit. Bond distances are normal for this type of complex [ranges: Mo-S = 2.193?(2)-2.390?(2); Cu-S = 2.266?(2)-2.470?(2); Cu-C = 1.899?(7)-1.911?(9)?Å]. One of the thiol-ato C atoms is disordered over two sites in a 0.52?(3):0.48?(3) ratio.
