ABSTRACT: In the title mononuclear Cd(II) complex, [CdCl(2)(C(11)H(17)N(3))], the Cd(II) atom is coordinated by two Cl atoms and three N atoms from the tridentate Schiff base ligand in a distorted square-pyramidal environment. The three N atoms and one Cl atom constitute the base of the pyramid, whereas the other Cl atom occupies the apical position.

Project description:The title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(12)H(18)N(2)O)]·0.5H(2)O, is a mononuclear zinc(II) compound derived from the zwitterionic form of the Schiff base 2-[3-(dimethyl-amino)propyl-imino-meth-yl]-phenol. The Zn(II) atom is four-coordinated by the imine N and the phenolate O atoms of the Schiff base ligand, and by two chloride ions, in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry. The dimethyl-ammonio group is disordered over two positions with site occupancies of 0.51?(3) and 0.49?(3). In the asymmetric unit, there is also a disordered water mol-ecule with a partial occupancy of 0.5. In the crystal structure, the water mol-ecules are linked to the Schiff base complex mol-ecules through inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds. Mol-ecules are further linked through additional inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming chains running along the b axis.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(NCS)(2)(C(12)H(17)N(3)O)], was prepared by the reaction of zinc acetate with pyridine-2-carbaldehyde, 2-morpholinoethyl-amine and ammonium thio-cyanate in an ethanol solution. The Zn(II) atom is five coordinate with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, coordinating with three N atoms of the Schiff base (2-morpholinoeth-yl)(2-pyridylmethyl-idene)amine and two N atoms from two thio-cyanate ligands. The morpholine ring adopts a chair configuration.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric compound, [Hg(2)Cl(4)(C(26)H(22)N(6)O)(2)], each Hg(II) center adopts a distorted HgN(3)Cl(2) trigonal bipyramidal coordination geometry, formed by two pyridine N atoms, one imine N atom and two chloride anions. Within the organic ligand, the oxadiazole ring is nearly coplanar with the two benzene rings [dihedral angles = 5.9?(4) and 6.5?(4)°] and nearly perpendicular to the two pyridine rings with the same dihedral angle of 77.4?(4)°. The two organic ligands bridge two Hg(II) ions to form the macrocyclic complex. Inter-molecular N-H?Cl and N-H?N hydrogen bonding helps to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound [Cd(C(8)H(11)N(2)O(3)S)(2)](n), is a two-dimensional coordination polymer based on a Cd(2+) atom and deprotonated 2-(2-pyridylmethyl-amino)ethanesulfonic acid (Hpmt). The complex has mol-ecular symmetry C(i) as a consequence of the Cd(II) being located on an inversion centre. Two N atoms of each pmt(-) ligand coordinate to the Cd(2+) ion and its sulfonate O atom bonds to an adjacent Cd(2+) ion. 24-membered (-Cd-N-C-C-S-O-)(4) rings are formed between neighbouring Cd(2+) ions; these are inter-connected, forming a two-dimensional layer structure. In respect to stereogenic amino N atom and the inversion symmetry of the complex, the compound is a 1:1 racemate. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds and further connected by ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyridyl rings [average inter-planar distance and centroid-centroid separation = 3.582?(1) and 3.634?(1)Å, respectively], forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

In the crystal structure, the benzimidazole ring systems are involved in weak inter-molecular ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.606?(2) and 3.753?(2)?Å]. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The methyl H atoms of the dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule are disordered about a mirror plane.
