ABSTRACT: In the title mononuclear Cd(II) complex, [CdCl(2)(C(11)H(17)N(3))], the Cd(II) atom is coordinated by two Cl atoms and three N atoms from the tridentate Schiff base ligand in a distorted square-pyramidal environment. The three N atoms and one Cl atom constitute the base of the pyramid, whereas the other Cl atom occupies the apical position.

Project description:In the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(14)H(12)N(2))], the Co(II) atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two N atoms from a 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two Cl atoms. The Co atom and the phenanthroline unit are located on a mirror plane. The methyl H atoms are disordered about the mirror plane and areeach half-occupied. In the crystal structure, π-π inter-actions between the pyridine and benzene rings and between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.8821 (9) and 3.9502 (10) Å, respectively] stabilize the structure.

Project description:The amine title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(7)H(13)N(3))], resulted from imine hydrolysis in a Schiff base compound. The Zn metal atom has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry with the most significant deviation identified in the magnitude of the N-Zn-N angle. This deviation stems from the participation of the Zn and N atoms in a six-membered metallocyclic ring. The latter is in an approximate screw-boat conformation. Two strong N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into ribbons propagating along the b-axis direction. The ribbons contain two second-order hydrogen-bonded motifs: a chain and a ring. The chain described by the graph set notation C(2) (2)(6) is formed by one hydrogen bond going in the forward direction (donor to acceptor) and the other in the backward direction (acceptor to donor). In the ring motif R(2) (2)(8), both hydrogen bonds propagate in the forward direction.

Project description:The title complex, [Cd(Paba)(2)]·2H(2)O or [Cd(C(12)H(9)N(2)O(3)S)(2)]·2H(2)O, was synthesized by the reaction of the potassium salt of 2-(2-pyridylmethyl-eneamino)benzene-sulfonic acid (PabaK) with CdCl(2)·2.5H(2)O in methanol. The Cd(II) atom lies on a crystallographic twofold axis and is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms from two deprotonated tridentate 2-(2-pyridylmethyl-eneamino)benzene-sulfonate ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. There are extensive hydrogen bonds of the type O-H⋯O between the uncoordinated water molecules and the sulfonate O atoms, through which the complex forms a layered structure parallel to (001).

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)H(7)N(2)O(2))Cl(2)(C(4)H(8)N(2)O(2))], the Co(III) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. The equatorial plane consists of four N atoms, two each from the dimethyl-glyoxime and dimethyl-glyoximate ligands, while the two axial positions are occupied by two chloride ions. Strong intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed between the dimethyl-glyoxime and dimethyl-glyoximate ligands. Mol-ecules are linked into a chain running along the [101] direction by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. The chains are cross-linked through inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(12)H(18)N(2)O)]·0.5H(2)O, is a mononuclear zinc(II) compound derived from the zwitterionic form of the Schiff base 2-[3-(dimethyl-amino)propyl-imino-meth-yl]-phenol. The Zn(II) atom is four-coordinated by the imine N and the phenolate O atoms of the Schiff base ligand, and by two chloride ions, in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry. The dimethyl-ammonio group is disordered over two positions with site occupancies of 0.51 (3) and 0.49 (3). In the asymmetric unit, there is also a disordered water mol-ecule with a partial occupancy of 0.5. In the crystal structure, the water mol-ecules are linked to the Schiff base complex mol-ecules through inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Mol-ecules are further linked through additional inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains running along the b axis.
