Project description:The structure of the title compound, C(17)H(18)FN(3)O(3)·6H(2)O, has been redetermined at 120 K. An invariom refinement, a structural refinement using aspherical scattering factors from theoretically predicted multipole population parameters, yields accurate geometry and anisotropic displacement parameters, including hydrogen-bonding parameters. All potential hydrogen-bond donors and acceptors are involved in hydrogen bonding, forming an intricate three-dimensional network of N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O bonds.

The bridging norf anion results in one-dimensional chains propogating along [010]. A network of O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds helps to establish the crystal structure.

In the picrate anion, the two O atoms of one of the o-NO(2) groups are disordered over two positions, with an occupancy ratio of 0.56 (4):0.44 (4). In the crystal structure, cations and anions are connected by inter-molecular N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. In addition, π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings and between the benzene rings of the anions, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.6103 (12) and 3.5298 (11) Å, respectively, are observed.
