Bis(dihydrogen norfloxacinium) tri-?(2)-chlorido-bis-[trichloridobismuthate(III)] chloride dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, {systematic name: (3-carb-oxy-1-ethyl-6-fluoro-7-piperazin-4-ium-1-yl-1H-quinolin-4-yl-idene)oxonium tri-?(2)-chlorido-bis-[trichloridobismuthate(III)] chloride dihydrate], (C(16)H(20)FN(3)O(3))(2)[Bi(2)Cl(9)]Cl·2H(2)O, is composed of [Bi(2)Cl(9)](3-) anions lying on crystallographic twofold rotation axes, Cl(-) anions also on twofold axes, C(16)H(20)FN(3)O(3) (2+) cations, and water mol-ecules. The Bi(III) coordination polyhedron is a distorted octa-hedron and two such octa-hedra share a triangular face to form the complex anion. There are three short terminal Bi-Cl bonds [2.5471?(6)-2.5781(5?Å] and three longer bridging bonds [2.8599?(5)-2.9984?(6)?Å] in each octa-hedron. Anions, cations and water mol-ecules are linked by hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional network. There are also ?-? stacking inter-actions between quinoline ring systems, with an inter-planar distance of 3.27?(1)?Å.

Project description:The title compound {systematic name: tetra-kis[4-(3-carb-oxy-1-ethyl-6-fluoro-4-hydroxonio-1,4-dihydro-7-quinol-yl)-1-meth-yl-piperazin-1-ium] di-?(2)-chlorido-bis-[tetra-chlorido-bismuth-ate(III)] tetra-chloride octa-hydrate}, (C(17)H(22)FN(3)O(3))(4)[Bi(2)Cl(10)]Cl(4)·8H(2)O, is composed of edge-shared centrosymmetric dinuclear [Bi(2)Cl(10)](4-) anions, Cl(-) anions, dihydrogen pefloxacinium cations and water mol-ecules. The Bi(III) coordination polyhedron is a distorted octa-hedron. There are four short terminal Bi-Cl bonds [2.5037?(10)-2.6911?(7)?Å] and two longer bridging bonds [2.8834?(8) and 3.0687?(9)?Å] in each octa-hedron. Two sets of chloride ions and water mol-ecules are disordered over the same sites with site occupancies of 1/3 and 2/3, respectively. Anions, cations and water mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O, O-H?Cl and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. There are also ?-? stacking inter-actions between quinoline ring systems [centroid-centroid distance = 3.575?(1)?Å].

Tri-?-chlorido-bis-[(?-hexa-methyl-benzene)-ruthenium(II)] tetra-chlorido-ferrate(III).

Project description:The mol-ecular geometry of the complex cation in the title structure, [(?-Cl)(3){Ru(II)(?(6)-C(6)Me(6))}(2)][Fe(III)Cl(4)], compares very well with that reported earlier for the corresponding PF(6) (-) salt [Pandey et al. (1999 ?). J. Organomet. Chem.592, 278-282]. The [FeCl(4)](-) counter ion has a rather regular tetra-hedral geometry with Fe-Cl distances and Cl-Fe-Cl angles in the range 2.1891?(7)-2.2018?(8)?Å and 107.10?(3)-110.56?(3)°, respectively. There are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions in the crystal except for some weak C-H?Cl contacts, which in turn indicates that the crystal packing is determined predominantly by electrostatic inter-actions between the ionic constituents.

Crystal structure of di-?-chlorido-bis-[di-chlorido-bis-(methanol-?O)iridium(III)] dihydrate: a surprisingly simple chlorido-iridium(III) dinuclear complex with methanol ligands.

Project description:The reaction between IrCl3·xH2O in methanol led to the formation of small amounts of the title compound, [Ir2Cl6(CH3OH)4]·2H2O, which consists of two IrCl4O2 octa-hedra sharing an edge via chloride bridges. The mol-ecule lies across an inversion center. Each octa-hedron can be envisioned as being comprised of four chloride ligands in the equatorial plane with methanol ligands in the axial positions. A lattice water mol-ecule is strongly hydrogen-bonded to the coordinating methanol ligands and weak inter-actions with coordinating chloride ligands lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network. This is a surprising structure given that, while many reactions of iridium chloride hydrate are carried out in alcoholic solvents, especially methanol and ethanol, this is the first structure of a chloridoiridium compound with only methanol ligands.

Project description:The structure of the title organic-inorganic hybrid compound, {(C(2)H(7)N(4)O)(2)[BiCl(5)]}(n), consists of corrugated chains parallel to [100] of corner-joined [BiCl(6)] octa-hedra, separated by layers of organic 1-carbamoylguanidinum cations. The crystal cohesion is achieved by N-H?O and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, which link the organic and inorganic parts of the structure.

Three sulfate anions bridge two In(III) cations, forming the dinuclear entities. O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonding is observed in the crystal structure. The crystal structure is further consolidated by ?-? stacking between nearly parallel phen ring systems [dihedral angle = 4.2?(4)°], the centroid-centroid distance between benzene rings of adjacent phen ligands being 3.528?(9)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Ir2H2O(C3H9P)6](BF4)2·2H2O, was isolated from the reaction between [Ir(COD)(PMe3)3]BF4 and H2 in water (COD is cyclo-octa-1,5-diene). The asymmetric unit consists of one Ir(III) atom bonded to three PMe3 groups, one hydride ligand and half an oxide ligand, in addition to a BF4 (-) counter-ion and one water molecule of hydration. The single oxide ligand bridging two Ir(III) atoms is disordered across an inversion center with each O atom having a 50% site occupancy. Each Ir(III) atom has three PMe3 groups occupying facial positions, with the half-occupancy O atoms, a hydride ligand and an Ir-Ir bond completing the coordination sphere. The Ir-Ir distance is 2.8614?(12)?Å, comparable to other iridium(III) metal-metal bonds. Two water mol-ecules hydrogen bond to two BF4 (-) anions in the unit cell.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(III)(NH?)?]?[Co(II)(C?O?)?]?Cl·12H?O, was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit comprises two [Co(NH?)?]³? cations, one located on a threefold axis and the other on a site of symmetry -3, a [Co(C?O?)?]?? anion, located on a threefold axis, one sixth of a chloride anion [disordered over two sites, one threefold (site occupancy = 0.5) and the other -3 (site occupancy (0.25)] and two water molecules. Both Co(III) centers are six-coordinated by NH? mol-ecules, forming [Co(NH?)?]³? octa-hedra, with Co-N distances in the range 1.958?(2)-1.977?(3)?Å. The title structure gives the first example of the [Co(C?O?)?]?? anion, with the distorted octa-hedral environment of Co(II) center formed by six O atoms from three oxalate residues. The Co-O bond lengths are 2.0817?(18) to 2.0979?(18)?Å. Multiple N-H?O, N-H?Cl and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the cations, anions and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.
