Chlorido{5-chloro-2-[2-(methyl-sulfanyl)phenyl-diazen-yl]phenyl}-platinum(II).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Pt(C(13)H(10)ClN(2)S)Cl], contains a Pt atom tetra-coordinated by a benzene C, a diazene N, a Cl and an S atom in an approximately square-planar geometry. The mol-ecules dimerize through a nonbonded S⋯S inter-action [S⋯S = 3.523 (18) Å]. There are no hydrogen bonds and the crystal packing is stabilized by four inter-molecular π-π inter-actions; the centroid-centroid distances are 3.804 (3), 3.638 (3), 3.804 (3) and 3.638 (3) Å, and the corresponding perpendicular distances are 3.369, 3.448, 3.406 and 3.466 Å.

The title compound, [Pt(C(13)H(10)ClN(2)S)Cl], contains a Pt atom tetra-coordinated by a benzene C, a diazene N, a Cl and an S atom in an approximately square-planar geometry. Project description:The title compound, [Pt(C(15)H(18)NO(2)S)Cl], was obtained by the cyclo-metallation reaction of cis-bis-(benzonitrile)dichlorido-platinum(II) with N-benzyl-idene-l-methio-nine allyl ester in refluxing toluene. The Pt(II) atom has a square-planar geometry and is tetra-coordinated by the Cl atom and the C, N and S atoms from the benzyl-idene methio-nine ester ligand. In the crystal structure, the S atoms show opposite chiral configurations with respect to the ?-carbon of the methio-nine, reducing steric repulsion between the methyl and allyl ester groups.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(14)ClN(3), represents the planar azoenamine tautomer. The benzene ring forms a dihedral angle of 2.5 (1)° with the azoenamine group. Electron delocalization is indicated by the values of the bond lengths in the chain. The tetra-hydro-pyridine ring adopts a half-chair conformation and the dihedral angle between the least-squares plane defined by the five coplanar C atoms and the azoenamine unit is 2.0 (1)°, while the envelope-flap C atom lies out of this plane by 0.579 (2) Å. The mol-ecular packing is governed by van der Waals inter-actions through the stacking of adjacent mol-ecules, resulting in a two-dimensional sheet structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(15)ClN(2)S, a divalent organosulfur compound belonging to the class of ortho-mercaptoazo compounds, is non-ionic in nature. The azo group in the mol-ecule is moved away from the S atom to attain the stable trans-azo configuration. Here the S atom is not electron deficient, so no intra-molecular N?S inter-action exists. Due to steric reasons, the mol-ecule is non-planar: the chlorophenyl and benzyl rings are oriented at dihedral angles of 3.21?(8) and 78.18?(5)°, respectively, with respect to the thiophenyl ring. There are no hydrogen bonds and the crystal structure is stabilized by van der Waals inter-actions.
