ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Ag(C(30)H(20)N(6))][SbF(6)]}(n), the Ag(+) cation has a three-coordinate environment completed by three N atoms of the 1,2-bis-[(3-cyano-benzyl-idene)hydrazono]-1,2-diphenyl-ethane ligand. The Ag(+) cation coordination geometry is best described as distorted T-shaped. The crystal structure forms a three-dimensional structural polymer.

Project description:In the title complex, {[Ag(2)(CF(3)O(3)S)(2)(C(30)H(20)N(6))]·C(6)H(6)}(n), the two independent Ag(I) ions are each coordinated by two N atoms and one O atom in a 'T-shaped' geometry. In the crystal structure, 1,2-bis-[(3-cyano-benzyl-idene)hydrazono]-1,2-diphenyl-ethane ligands act as bridging ligands and each coordinates to four Ag(I) ions, resulting in a one-dimensional chain structure. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title polymer, {[Ag(C(14)H(10)N(4)O)(2)]PF(6)}(n), each Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two pyridyl rings of independent N'-(4-cyano-benzyl-idene)nicotinohydrazide ligands, and one N atom from one carbonitrile group of a symmetry-related ligand in a distorted T-shaped geometry. The ligands exhibit two modes of coordination. One acts as a bridge connecting Ag atoms to form one-dimensional chains along [01]. The other acts as a terminal monodentate ligand, coordinating to Ag through its pyridyl N atom. Two neighbouring anti-parallel chains in the crystal are connected through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Other adjacent chains are packed via Ag⋯O inter-actions, with Ag⋯O separations of 2.876 (2) Å. In addition, PF(6) (-) counter-anions inter-act with the hydrazone groups through N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds. The PF(6) (-) anion is disordered over two sites, with occupancies of 0.773 (8) and 0.227 (8).

Project description:In the title compound, C(26)H(19)N(3)O, the dimethyl-ene hydrazine (-C=N-N=C-) unit is approximately planar, the torsion angle around the N-N bond being 162.2?(6)°. The phenyl and benzoyl-phenyl rings at one end of the hydrazine unit are aligned at angles of 9.5?(5) and 88.5?(4)°, respectively, with respect to the hydrazine unit, whereas the benzene ring at the other end is twisted by an angle of 14.4?(4)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimers by inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The monoclinic crystal under investigation shows pseudo-merohedral twinning with twin fractions of 0.63 and 0.37.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Ag(C(14)H(10)N(4)O)(2)]AsF(6)}(n), the Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two different pyridyl rings and one N atom from one carbonitrile group of three different N'-(4-cyano-benzyl-idene)nicotinohydrazide ligands in a distorted T-shaped geometry. The Ag-N(carbonitrile) bond distance is significant longer than those of Ag-N(pyrid-yl). The bond angles around the Ag(I) atom are also not in line with those in an ideal T-shaped geometry. One type of ligand acts as the bridge that connects Ag(I) atoms into chains along [01]. These chains are linked to each other via N-H?O hydrogen bonds and Ag?O inter-actions with an Ag?O separation of 2.869?(2)?Å. In addition, the [AsF(6)](-) counter-anions are linked to the hydrazone groups through N-H?F hydrogen bonds. Four of the F atoms of the [AsF(6)](-) anion are disordered over two sets of sites with occupancies of 0.732?(9) and 0.268?(9).

Project description:In the title chain compound, [Ag(NO(3))(C(26)H(24)P(2))](n), the bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane (dppe) units link the Ag(+) ions into chains along [001]. A nitrate anion is coordinated to the Ag atom. There is a centre of symmetry at the mid-point of the ethane C-C bond and a twofold rotation axis passes through the Ag, N and terminal O atoms. Each Ag atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two O atoms of the nitrate anion and two P atoms of dppe ligands. The two aromatic rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 73.77 (3)°.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title bidentate Schiff base ligand, C(18)H(20)N(2)O(2), has twofold crystallographic rotation symmetry, giving one half-mol-ecule per asymmetric unit. It adopts a twisted E configuration with respect to the azomethine C=N bond. The imino group is coplanar with the aromatic ring. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 69.52?(5)°. The meth-oxy group is coplanar with the benzene ring, as indicated by the C-O-C-C torsion angle of -179.56?(8)°. Project description:The mol-ecule of the title Schiff base compound, C(16)H(14)I(2)N(2), lies across a crystallographic inversion centre. An intra-molecular C-H?I hydrogen bond forms a five-membered ring, producing an S(5) ring motif. The C=N bond is coplanar with the benzene ring and adopts a trans configuration. Within the mol-ecule, the planar units are parallel, but extend in opposite directions from the dimethyl-ene bridge. An inter-esting feature of the crystal structure is the short I?N [3.2096?(15)?Å] inter-action, which is significantly shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii of these atoms. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into one-dimensional extended chains along the c axis and also into one-dimensional extended chains along the b axis through short inter-molecular I?N inter-actions, forming two-dimensional networks parallel to the bc plane.
