ABSTRACT: The Mn(III) ion in the title complex, [Mn(C(15)H(10)N(3)O)(2)]ClO(4)·H(2)O, is coordinated meridionally by six N atoms from two tridentate N-(8-quinol-yl)pyridine-2-carboxamidate ligands, yielding a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The two ligands are nearly planar and their mean planes are almost perpendicular, with a dihedral angle of 86.7?(2)°.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(N(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], was obtained as the first crystalline product from the reaction of Ni(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O, picolinamide and NaN(3) in aqueous media. After a few days in the mother liquor, crystals of the cis isomer transformed into the trans isomer [Đaković & Popović (2007 ▶). Acta Cryst. C63, m507-m509]. The Ni atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral environment and contains two azide ions and two planar N,O-chelating picolinamide ligands, all cis related. The dihedral angle between the two chelate rings is 82.43 (7)°. Pairs of mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into cyclic R(2) (2)(16) dimers, which are further packed into a three-dimensional framework by C(6) and C(8) chains by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The structure of the title salt complex, [Fe(C(12)H(8)N(3)O(2))(2)]ClO(4)·H(2)O, contains one Fe(III) cation, two N-(pyridin-2-ylcarbon-yl)pyridine-2-carboxamidate (bpca(-)) anions, one perchlorate anion and one water mol-ecule. The Fe(III) cation has an approximate octa-hedral geometry, defined by six N atoms from two bpca(-) anions. The nearly parallel [dihedral angle = 1.50?(1)°] bpca(-) anions form two-dimensional supermolecules along the a axis by the way of weak ?-? stacking inteactirons [centroid-centroid distances = 3.948?(2), 4.000?(2), 3.948?(2), 3.911?(2), 3.897?(2), 3.984?(2) and 3.929?(2)?Å]. Intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs. The water mol-ecule [occupancies 0.520?(5) and 0.480?(5)], two carbonyl O atoms [occupancies 0.622?(7) and 0.378?(7)] and the four perchlorate O atoms [occupancies 0.887?(4) and 0.113?(4)] are each disordered over two positions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound [Mn(NCS)(2)(C(9)H(13)N)(4)] consists of one Mn(II) cation located on a center of inversion, one thio-cyanato anion, one 3-tert-butyl-pyridine ligand and one 4-tert-butyl-pyridine ligand in general positions. The tert-butyl group of the 4-tert-butyl-pyridine ligand is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.60:0.40 ratio. The Mn(II) cation is coordinated by six N atoms of four tert-butyl-pyridine ligands and two N-bonded thio-cyanato anions within a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment.

Methyl-(phenyl)-bis-(quinoline-2-carbox-ylato-κN,O)tin(IV) monohydrate.

Project description:The Sn(IV) atom in each of the two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Sn(CH(3))(C(6)H(5))(C(10)H(6)NO(2))(2)]·H(2)O, is N,O-chelated by two quinoline-2-carboxyl-ate ions; the dative Sn-N bonds are significantly longer than the covalent Sn-O bonds. The two O and two N atoms comprise a trapezoid, and the diorganotin skeleton is bent over the longer N-N edge [C-Sn-C = 144.2 (1) and 144.5 (1)° in the two independent mol-ecules]. The uncoordinated water mol-ecules serve to connect the skew-trapezoidal bipyramidal tin-bearing mol-ecules, generating a linear chain motif running along the ac diagonal. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin having a minor component of 33.2 (1)%.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(C20H21N3)2](ClO4)2, two tridentate (2-methyl-benz-yl)bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine (L) ligands form the Mn(II) complex [MnL 2](ClO4)2. The Mn(II) ion lies on a twofold axis and the complex cation is significantly distorted from regular octa-hedral geometry. The packing is stabilized by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions between the cations and anions, which link them into a zigzag ribbon along [101]. The perchlorate anion is disordered and was constrained to be tetra-hedral with two orientations having occupancies of 0.768 (4) and 0.232 (4). The 2-methylbenzyl moiety is also disordered over two sets of sites, with occupancies of 0.508 (15) and 0.492 (15).

Perchlorate acts as a counterion to balance the charge. The crystal structure of the title compound is stabilized by C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

The complex crystallizes with a Cr(III) ion at the center of a distorted octa-hedral coordination polyhedron with a cis arrangement of ligands. The crystal packing shows a hydrogen-bonding pattern involving water mol-ecules, the coordinated F atom and the perchlorate anions.
