Bis(1-methyl-1H-imidazole-κN)[N,N'-o-phenyl-enebis(pyridine-2-carbox-amido)-κN]manganese(II).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Mn(C(18)H(12)N(4)O(2))(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)], belongs to the family of 1,2-bis-(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzene (H(2)bpb) ligated metal complexes. The manganese center is octa-hedrally coordinated by a bpb ligand and two axial 1-methyl-imidazole mol-ecules. The axial N-Mn-N group is bent with a bond angle of 151.79 (7)°.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(C(3)H(4)N(2))(6)][Mn(C(3)H(4)N(2))(3)(H(2)O)(3)](C(12)H(6)O(4))(2), there are uncoordinated naphthalene-dicarboxyl-ate dianions and two kinds of Mn(II) complex cations, both assuming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. One Mn(II) cation is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by six imidazole mol-ecules, while the other Mn(II) cation is located on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated by three water mol-ecules and three imidazole units. The naphthalene-dicarboxyl-ate dianions are linked to both Mn(II) complex cations via O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, but no π-π stacking is observed between aromatic rings in the crystal structure.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Mn(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(4)], consists of isolated mol-ecules of [Mn(NCS)(2)(Aim)(4)] (Aim = 1-allyl-imidazole), which contain a compressed octa-hedral MnN(6) chromophore (site symmetry [Formula: see text]). The NCS(-) anions are trans and four N atoms from the Aim ligands define the equatorial plane. The mean Mn-N(Aim) and Mn-N(NCS) distances are 2.270 and 2.229 Å, respectively. Weak C-H⋯N inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(N(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], was obtained as the first crystalline product from the reaction of Ni(NO(3))(2)·6H(2)O, picolinamide and NaN(3) in aqueous media. After a few days in the mother liquor, crystals of the cis isomer transformed into the trans isomer [Đaković & Popović (2007 ▶). Acta Cryst. C63, m507-m509]. The Ni atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral environment and contains two azide ions and two planar N,O-chelating picolinamide ligands, all cis related. The dihedral angle between the two chelate rings is 82.43 (7)°. Pairs of mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into cyclic R(2) (2)(16) dimers, which are further packed into a three-dimensional framework by C(6) and C(8) chains by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The Mn(III) ion in the title complex, [Mn(C(15)H(10)N(3)O)(2)]ClO(4)·H(2)O, is coordinated meridionally by six N atoms from two tridentate N-(8-quinol-yl)pyridine-2-carboxamidate ligands, yielding a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The two ligands are nearly planar and their mean planes are almost perpendicular, with a dihedral angle of 86.7 (2)°.
